How this type of "credential" fits into the wider university system is a topic in the recent A16Z podcast Crisis in Higher Ed & Why Universities Still Matter with Marc & Ben (https://a16z.simplecast.com/episodes/crisis-in-higher-ed-why...). The pod goes into much wider issues that may be of interest to comment readers. Note I'm still computing on Marc & Ben's views and not agreeing or disagreeing but rather acknowledge the relevance of part of their discussion to this topic.

“Andreessen Pulls a Bezos” I was expecting pics of Andreessen riding a giant penis into space then gloating about how his employees & customers paid for it all. Disappointed.

How big a problem is code theft? According to this article... "Employees are taking sensitive computer code from their own companies at three times the rate they were a year ago, according to new research into so-called insider threats, as record numbers of disgruntled workers quit their jobs with pandemic restrictions easing. An analysis of data of 700,000 company devices by the cyber security group Code42 found that there were about 65m attempts made by staff to exfiltrate source code from their corporate network in the three months to the end of June, up from about 20m in each of the previous three quarters."

In Australia, the recently listed company https://hipagesgroup.com.au/ is a homeowner-contractor 2 sided marketplace business. Home owners offer work, tradies* bid for that work. Seems a similar business already validated Down Under.

* "Tradie" is Australian slang for someone who's gone to trade school and is now qualified as a plumber, carpenter, electrician, etc.
