Hi HN - I have some very distinct and critical changes to ATS Resume Forge including a pay-as-you-go structure where features cost credits instead of requiring monthly subscriptions, additional credit top-ups are now available, users can switch between dark and light mode, enhanced profile and resume building architecture, and loads of other features.

I would greatly appreciate blunt product feedback as I continue to work to improve the site and user experience.

thanks for the input. I didn't really have to think about this long either. It's a no-brainer and something I should have considered from the start. In leaving the subscription tiers I've opened up all the limitations and turned the Trial accounts into Free accounts and instead of limiting 3 resumes only I'm going to provide enough credits to handle the same tasks based on my analysis of API costs. Subscriptions will now receive XXX amount of credits at the start of every month. Credit bundles will be available in various denominations that all users can purchase to increase their usability throughout the site. Each "feature" that I had locked down to certain tiers will be open and cost X amount of credits per use, giving the user far more flexibility and cost control.

While this is a pretty big lift it's something I should have looked at from the beginning and it makes so much sense I think I just overlooked the simplicity. I'll post back when the changes have been rolled out to get additional feedback.

So for your suggestion with a pay-as-you-go model. Would you be looking at purchasing credits or just a flat fee of $XX per resume. I'm not going to disagree about the # of resumes potentially going out in a month, because I've done the same.

With the Credits model each "feature" would cost XX amount of credits and you can refill as needed. With the pay-as-you-go, I suppose it's max cost (based on AI usage, etc. on the backend) per resume to include all the features?

What are your thoughts of ADDING in a credits-based model to the subscriptions? I went subscription because it seemed the easiest way to offer specific features at lowers costs. Maybe I'm wrong?

Adding in a pay-as-you-go and credits-based model would increase the # of options available to a user.

Hi HN — I built ATS Resume Forge as a solo effort under my independent umbrella, PFG Apps, for job seekers who are tired of sending generic resumes, or AI-generated resumes that still aren’t tailored well to a specific job description.

The app lets users build a profile, paste a job description, generate a targeted resume, and choose from ATS-friendly templates. I’m trying to make the workflow practical rather than flashy: job description in, targeted resume out, with room for the user to review and refine.

I’d especially appreciate feedback on the workflow, pricing, trust/privacy concerns, and whether the AI-generated resume output feels genuinely useful or too generic.

Blunt product feedback is welcome.
