Really cool

Hey! Got it integrated in Omnipilot, it's the fastest way to get chatting with the model. It's free right now, I'll add a limit and paywall imminently if this picks up.

It has literally never been ten years away, until this year. Or for the vigilant, since GPT-3 was released.

When has it been called 10 years away before? Not since the 1960s.

Very cool. maybe a way to go to market would be to sell it as a chrome extension to large corporates or even dev agencies by proving it will make their developers more productive?

i.e. spin up VMs for me when I go to any site, not just the sites which have chosen to use devbook.

I reckon that could make adoption a lot faster/easier and also it means the people/orgs directly receiving the value are the ones paying.

Congrats on launching! Don't stress about the low levels of response, I suspect that as you suggested, this will be more of a tool to help companies do tech support than a tool for consumers to get help.

Keep up the pace and iteration!

I have this exact problem too! Having tried Beeper, and now using it every day, I can confirm it achieves this perfectly.

I now just check Beeper in batches (there's a great shortcut for cycling through unreads), rather than having endless apps to check.

Honestly so glad it's a paid service. I'm happy to pay for something I can trust to handle my messages, rather than using them against me to sell ads/send to shady data brokers!

Awesome work Eric, Tulir, and the whole Matrix team too!

It's a future prediction, agree aggregate status don't show it yet, but the people who drive long-term trends (for example, the early adopters of Facebook) no longer use it, and the brand crisis I think is only going to continue.

Totally agree that Facebook isn't going to vanish any time soon, I'm just saying that basically they won't win because people are slowly but steadily losing trust in them, and they will lose their data & talent advantage.

People are also becoming more willing to pay for software over time, I think/hope the pendulum will swing back to the "user pays for product" model. We'll see!

So if you want to find out what Facebook knows about you, you have to download your data from Facebook. It's a JSON dump which does very little on its own to inform you what all of it actually means. We wanted to make a tool to easily analyse and understand the data.

You upload it to Ethi, but your data is encrypted in your browser before you upload, stored encrypted, and only decrypted in a serverless cloud instance to analyse and process it (there's a lot of data analysis that happens) before being stored encrypted again.

So we can't see your data when it's stored, and it's encrypted nearly all the time except when it's being processed or you're viewing it.
