For those that need some background in Computer Science (say you have a B.S. in something else but want to learn Comp Sci fundamentals) there's also the programming certificate course: https://engineeringonline.ncsu.edu/PS/CPC.html
I've had an account on 4 Dimensions for (wow) 18 years now. I log in every now and then to check things out but don't play regularly anymore. I do see some of the same people there and I they still update and improve as far as I know.
I work at a Smart Grid company and we make devices and software that help conserve energy and natural resources. I'm glad to have found the job because my previous job didn't have what I perceived to be a benefit to society and that really bothered me.
My home office setup (where I try to spend most of my working time):
Desk: StandDesk adjustable standing desk with bamboo top
Chair: Standard leather office chair from BigBox store
Monitor: Dual 1080p 5 year old Acers. This is next on my upgrade list
Keyboard: CODE Keyboard with Cherry MX Clear switches
Hours: 9/10am -> Until ~8+ Hours worked
Bonus: Box full of baby chickens and heat lamp. They moved in a few weeks back and I'm waiting for them to grow big enough to be moved outside. Them being around has prompted me to go into my work-office and/or work from another room these past 2 weeks. They're cute but it'll be good when they move out! The cheeping isn't so bad but the heat lamp and the temperatures they require do not align with my preferences.
Thank you for the reply! I was under the impression that your home was occasionally mobile as well so that's why the fixed land line solution wasn't immediately obvious.
He mentions that his home server and internet gateway is a Sheevaplug with a wireless dongle and dialup modem. Presumably he doesn't have a landline where he lives. Can anyone comment on getting dialup access via a cell phone connection? Is that one way his setup could work?
