I agree. I wanted to believe that despite being a greedy coropration - like they are all - and despite the hidden compromises in security they do (like not encrypting backups because the FBI asked them to) they would at least try their best to avoid being scumbags.
Unrelated to this link, but youtube is WAY slower than pretty much any other video alternatives.
Note I even use the embed link for the video and have ublock, so it's not the youtube UI boggling it down.
Don't feel like writing more right now, but just felt like saying youtube is terrible in performance to my eyes.
They stopped being open source, added far more telemetry, changed the gold system to incentivize purchases, changed the design to the new one (slower, far more js), etc.
Personally I stopped browsing reddit a few years ago. It used to be amazing.
Too bad. Scumbags they are.
