so many people read these things and forget to check when it was written, its honestly infuriating since so much could easily change related to the article
I feel like they are just throwing out lots of old information they read without checking if its still true, since its up to room version 9 now :P and like you said they are working on native video calls in matrix
I've only had this issue when its between 2 people on the same HS, but I've never had it happen when I'm talking to someone on another HS its weird as hell
I get quicker and more reliable notifications from a self hosted matrix instance then signal and even if I went on the signal app and looked at the chat I couldn't see the message until I got a notification a bit later from them could I see it
moxie the creator of it is so against decentralizing signal its insane so thats never going to happen sadly, it really would fix the problem just have a few thousand server people start running and it connects to the network and gets sent messages to send to its destination
