You didn’t want to make things perfect. You just hated things the way they are.

Huh? Facebook mindless scrolling for drones?

Don’t agree especially with Vim. There are tools you have to learn first to use them properly not to harm yourself.

Author picked wrong analogy.

It is like nagging that excavator has some leavers instead of steering wheel.

Someone nagging they can’t quit Vim is far from Vim being example of bad tool.

Year of Linux on desktop is there as most of games actually run on Linux now thanks to Steam and SteamDeck.

Getting out of the way is important because people use dozen of tools each day for n and out.

Unfortunately there is still a thing to balance against, which is forcing people to do the right thing.

There always will be bunch of people who nag about being impeded by doing something correctly, because they feel it is waste of time.

I think that is what OP was fishing for. Wrong answers ;).

Llama.cpp is not harness, setting up prompt template to have instruct model is also not what people call harness.

What people call harness nowadays is software that you interact with and it proxies model interactions. It can do agentic loop but the loop is not really much use for models that do “thinking” unless you want to layer your own loop on top for dealing with results and good harness can help - but usually if something runs loop it is called an agent not a harness.

So if harness proxies all interaction with model it also provides tools for model. It can provide context management and security features, where as security features would be preventing injections and making sure model doesn’t access stuff it shouldn’t.

Warranty I don’t care. Insurance on the other hand is useful.

Oh great you just had an accident with modified software in car - we are not covering that.

Truly yours, car insurance company.

They can't leave bad reviews if they cannot use your website ... 5D chess move.

Basically people can do it in Postgres but at least run separate instances for each purpose. Don't just throw all in single instance.

None of these categories seem to build any meaningful rapport. Any honest answer I give is deeply unsatisfying to both parties, and we typically have better data from telemetry or crash logs than the emails provide. It’s certainly useful for us to receive them, but there’s not a helpful response I can give.

I don't know how you read the blog post but it seems your interpretation is uncharitable to say the least.

He wrote he already has good enough telemetry, there is just not much he can write in an e-mail to customer, besides generic "we know the issue thank you for the report" that would be useful for the customer and for themselves.

Not fun part is I didn’t get mine and I don’t think prices will go down in next 5 years.

Great — now this opens the question:

Why GitHub, people don’t know any better?

My favorite example is how NATO recognized cyberspace as operational domain in 2016 — like no one there watched or heard about a movie from 1983 called „War Games”.

I think you vastly overestimate speed with which people acknowledge new facts.

Second best is only Catholic Church fully acknowledging heliocentric theories in 1992.

Huh me?

Nope I think that's nothing new and that was already in the news like months ago when countries started asking Ukraine to buy drone warfare know-how.

The part where you are wrong is not that reaper or other highly sophisticated drones were available in 2011.

In 2026 we have swarms of cheap drones that are fire and forget and they are cheap for mass production.

That’s totally different game.

For anyone who was poor in that area it was better to move out.
ozim
·hace 14 días·discuss
Well not really. I couldn’t care less. I would move out anyway.

I just have seen firsthand how people who claim to be „for the local community” on the posters when it is election time — doing exactly the opposite otherwise.

Not really. I was just born there and it wasn’t as touristy when I was a child. It blew up as touristy place when I was a teenager and in my twenties.

My parents had odd jobs, construction, chemical processing operations. There was some small scale industry running there as well but it went bust when people wanted fresh air for tourism. Even if the industry was really small scale for marketing sake local government got rid of all of it.

I also don’t live there anymore as I wrote „I was living in a touristy area”.

If I would stay there, there was no future for me there.
