A woman broke her wrist on the rocks. That was the impetus for the man to install the steps himself.
Had he not installed the steps and gone viral, the Mayor would have never admitted that the 65-150k original city estimate was "totally out of whack".
His stairs were not a paragon of safety, but they were absolutely functional.
Any suggestion to the contrary, in my opinion, shows just how far project management and bureaucracy has drifted from reality and fiscal responsibility.
And also there is already a handicap accessible path in the park.
Ehhhh I would give them a pass on this one. The word "online" is certainly not precise enough, but I do think it conveys the point that "FTP that requires credentials" is not equal to "freely and conveniently available by URL/google etc"
and the reason for that of course is that the median internet user probably doesn't know what FTP is or how to use it
However the absolute monarchy of the Russian Empire did, and something tells me they might have been even more fanatical about censorship and imperialism than their Soviet successors...
This is a good explanation of "how" the people in charge of these ordinances came to their judgment...
but not a good explanation of "why we must" have these ordinances.
Boston Common and the Public Gardens had a massive number of Pokestops. Last summer, the benches were overflowing, easily many hundreds more people in a small area than there ever would be.
And to my knowledge nobody cared or complained. And this is arguably the most expensive part of the city, with home values of 10M and etc.
I cannot agree more with this comment. Too bad that others feel the need to wrap text and photos in JS, to the detriment of many billions of Internet users out there who aren't on fast connections and powerful machines.
Serendipity is a beautiful thing in science. It is not every day that surveying the ocean strikes gold, but it is nice that from a tragedy has come valuable (maybe even profitable) data that would remain undetected... had it not been for a decently large government expenditure that wouldn't have happened otherwise.
Personally, it would be nice if decent content could be supported by ads alone.
This way, the consumer doesn't have to buy a T-shirt, subscribe to a monthly patreon payment, download an app for 3.99 with ads, support us on kickstarter, please enter to win our giveaway, smash that like button, etc etc
The advertising spend on the internet + other traditional industries that should migrate some spend to internet should be more than enough to support the people who are providing legit content, I feel
well presumably it is important to know how much skin a person has in the game, because its possible that a person risking quite a chunk of change has a researched their position well and has more reasonable and actionable insight than someone holding 1 share from a Robinhood account :)
Based on what this article says, it is suprising that MORE violent attacks don't happen in this country.
