I have no idea why an American should care one iota about some abstruse ethnic conflict literally on the other side of the world. You are spectacularly unlikely to be able to figure out based on thirdhand reporting who is metaphysically in the right, if there is such a party, and almost anything you do is likely to make the situation worse.

That ignores the role of actual social networks and social proof in the construction of consensus reality. "Our" AI says it's real, and "your" AI says it's fake, and one can debate the margins - just as one debated whether it was metaphysically true that Clinton didn't have "sexual relations" with Lewinsky, or that Bush "lied" about Iraq.

Single family homes are historically how populations insulate themselves from the consequences of the policies the NYT advocates. On a macro scale, they're a defensive architecture. They make your neighborhood expensive enough that the population is (by selection) wealthy enough to ensure sufficiently low crime rates and sufficiently Good Schools, with enough geographic buffer to survive natural population movements.

Source? Noncompetes are disallowed in CA, and federal (and probably state) law prohibits a ban on employees sharing salary information amongst themselves. But AFAIK there is no direct prohibition on a contractual obligation not to disclose salary to a third party. You could of course be cute and merely disclose 1040 income or somesuch.

It's far from "government barely existing". They exist in minimal form solely to extract resources from any remaining piece of value in the city. Eg:

We are absolutely not. Productive farmland in the USA is fairly expensive and farmers are extremely interested in preserving its value. Most "destroyed" topsoil is due to eg suburban developments spreading into former agricultural areas, but it's still minimal in the grand scheme of things.

The amount of labor involved in grain crops like barley per dollar of output is minimal already - the guy running the tractor/combine/etc is mostly making sure nothing breaks and keeping an eye on things (which is important when you're operating $N00,000 worth of heavy equipment on open ground). You do need guys, however, for when things do go wrong, and for all the other farm tasks (equipment maintenance, fencing, maintaining irrigation, and so on).
