As far as I am aware there is no good reason to not use MariaDB instead of MySQL. The creator of MariaDB, Monty Widenius, was on a episode of the changelog podcast if you want to hear some background as to why.
Is it really based in Switzerland? If you look at the jobs page, they are all in Berlin. My guess would be registred in Switzerland, based in Germany and Data stored in Irland.
Richard A. Eisenberg has a nice comparison of Dependent Haskell with Idris and Liquid Haskell in his PhD. thesis[1].
There is a difference between refinement types and dependent types. In Liquid Haskell you basically state some predicates and then let the SMT solver figure out whether they are true. With Dependent Types you have to do all the legwork, but they are also more powerful.
Where did you get the fact that they are ready from the technology point of view?
Switzerland is part of the Generation IV International Forum and is represented by the Paul Scherrer Institute. According to their Website[1]: "Before a commercial MSR can go into service anywhere in the world, scientists and engineers have another 20 to 30 years of research and development ahead of them."
The Chinese plan to build the first MSRs in 15 years, whether they will succeed is another question. If the price for solar keeps dropping it won't make sense to build new nuclear power plants in a few years.
You have to consider that react was the first (popular) implementation of a virtual dom. We learned a tremendous amount how to implement and use the virtual dom in the mean time. And react isn't a framework, it only implements the view layer.
