Just to be clear what your position is. You believe that US is getting involved in wars particularly the middle east because US government wants to give money directly to military contractors or it wants to boost the value of these weapons companies to benefit the people who invested.

You cannot mass troops easily in the days of satellite and targeted long ranged missiles. They mass 20 million troops but they have to transport them down supply lines and house them all to get them close to the front. They'd be picked apart.

The public loves that narrative but it collapses under scrutiny.

Do you think people should have privacy from the government? That exists in a completely different realm than privacy against a private company.

"What's worse, you can just as easily run them under Windows' WSL. So what's the point of having Linux installed on your computer in the first place?". To me it doesn't matter if I am running an application in a slightly less efficient manner. The reason I run the app on linux is because i want control over my computer. You will never get that with Microsoft and Apple.

The fact that everything I want works well and the UI/UX is decades ahead is just a bonus.

This is so much effort for next to no gains.

I fully understand that I may be completely wrong but I just dont see that a lot of effort comes from outside a projects core maintainers. Its always a core maintainer group usually paid by some company doing 95% of the work and the patches contributed are localizations, small bug fixes and weird edge cases.

I'm not an open source maintainer so I could be completely off base here.

It seems to me as someone who wasn't paying attention to open source 10 or 20 years ago that its no longer a real community effort. Projects are maintained by their maintainers and get very little from the community. Commercial open source gets even less from the community. The only real value generated is corporate supported projects sharing with corporate supported projects. The average person is happy because they can also use these projects but ultimately they do nothing with it. The only people benefiting is the corporations that use this to build their products.

I dont know if this is a good thing or not. On paper it seems fine but there is something that feels wrong about it and I dont know exactly what.

what settings are you using? Game streaming from my PC to my steamdeck over ethernet for me feels like absolute shit. The quality gets destroyed every time i rotate the camera even on 1080p

Not really, there are people on the left and the right fighting against the 1% and for the 1%. The left right divid is a simplification yes but it is a very real divide in values and society structure.

Its a good strategy for anti western powers to fracture the left and drive up extremism and destabilization.

so only 99.9% of their output is accurate? I guess that to inaccurate for a video game review to be trustworthy.

Even taking into account all their fuckups majority of their content is accurate and well sourced. I dont know why people do this thing where they point to a few instances and then extrapolate that out.

You can see the same outcomes in cities that are walkable and interconnected. Its to complicated of a problem to point to cars as a major factor.

Plenty of people recognize that as a nazi symbol. Its why he covers it up in photos but leaves other tats uncovered. We only found out because of a leaked video from a personal event and someone inside his life confirming.

Same for Datacenters, MAGA and a ton of other things. Algorithms are being abused to manipulate reality for people and people know it. But they still get swept up because it feels so real when you're reading hundreds of comments, seeing countless articles and posts and videos.
