I've lived in Vietnam on and off for several months at a time. One of the safest countries anywhere ( as long as you don't badmouth the government)

Easy to live on sub 700$ a month if you're happy with air conditioned studio, mostly asian food, scooter and not going to high end bars.

Get the 1 bedroom apartment, quite often takeaway/delivered western food sub 1500$ a month.

Go eat out western food everyday, live in a 3 bedroom in the nicest district go to fancy bars etc and yeah maybe you can reach your 5k a month...

People have no clue / are not willing to experience adjustment for 3 weeks... But easily possible to live here for budgets mentioned above...

1. I said American bombs. I didn't say dropped by American pilots. But provided, directly by the USA to Israel.

2. The whole idea is that open source means you don't have to care about "native". Look up nginx for a great example.

3. America from ww1 ish, definitely after ww2 and until about 2005/10 had a very very good reputation in most of Europe. The obama years gave it a bump up as well So basically for about 80-90% of the last 100yrs.

Obvious falsehood for AI.

What can bitcoin "obvious" uniquely do that cannot be done better by other coins / tokens out there ? (As in privacy tokens have a blockchain and privacy, stable coins have utility of actually being able to be used as a means of payment etc etc ) en

Because rich people would be impacted by nuclear fallout in an unlikely event but are not impacted by fallout of daily coal/gas etc burning...

Also can read up on the bootleggers and baptist scenario that happened between the oil industry and greenpeace...

You might feel different if you're a palestinian who's getting american bombs dropped on him, or an afghani collateral damage or...

There is no good guys in general, and whataboutism and making the scope bigger doesn't help.

The thing is that if the models you are building on are open source whether hosted on chinese / american / whatever service at least give you an option to switch provider easier vs a fable / chatgpt 5.6 that gets banned for none americans etc...

2 years ago america would have had the branding/perception advantage but right now that is well and truly gone...

I'm talking about double weights and standards aka getting kicked out of the international banking system which wasn't possible in that time (and seemingly is still impossible if you are a friend/ vassal of the usa.

If I lived in nazi Germany I would have left asap to the usa like countless people (Einstein etc) did... Strange how they didn't try and stop people back then getting out...

Common scenario ?

The real question is what can a citizen do in a none democratic country... If you were Russian would you publically be protesting the war inside of Russia?

And all the people saying renounce citizenship, is your country gonna give him theirs ? Does Estonia offer free Estonian citizenship to Russians who abandon their's?

The real elephant in the room that I feel doesn't come up enough in these discussions is the fact that Israel is a democracy with freedom to protest etc and they are according to even holocaust survivors committing a genocide and according to mathematica and reports killing countless more civilians yet where is them being cut off from the banking system...

Or UAE in Sudan etc. Etc.

I dunno Russia is always the big boogieman seemingly...

Cambodia official currency is USD (1000 riel = meant to be 0.25c, goes up to 50000 riel) prices are advertised in $ in general with sometimes 1$ = 4200/4300/4500...

Anyway key point is your USD better be mint and at least 2018 or they will refuse it... Same at currency exchanges in most of south east Asia that have their own currency.

Your point 5 and your footnote elon musk not happy contradict eachother.

Elon Musk also massively decreased the cost of spaceflight and accelerated the advent of electric cars.

People, despite other people's desire, are complicated and neither pure evil nor pure good.

Plenty of dark patterns on their website but it is 100% possible to just get the luggage rather than a bundle source: me on almost 70% of my ryanair flights.

You went from ignoring Hanlon's razor in one comment straight to duning Kruger's in your next.

Seems like you just don't like musk and have to find a bad reason...

Personally I like the idea of ideas > event > people...

If I'm wrong on this post and you are really that capable I'd suggest you go work for comma.io because self driving cars/vehicles is definitely in top 5 of best upcoming inventions.

Good luck!

Congratulations!

They’d run out of cash in twelve weeks. Of course, nobody knew this except for Terry—as a founder, Terry carried that burden alone. He protected his team from the dire reality so they could focus on shipping the goddamn product.

... The burden of running out of pay for the other guys is casually not mentioned?...

Unless your only audience is startup founders I might just replace it with some different phrasing...

He didn't want to distract his team while also fearing about being able to keep paying them...

Just my 2c to make the average reader care more :))

You keep reading between lines that aren't there.

Personally, especially in the age of llm's, I wouldn't do so much projection and insinuation under a profile that is linked to your online/real identity.

While on the one hand strong opinions are generally appreciated, not too many people who consider themselves a cancer are looking for some to help them with "overall growth."...

I guess for some reason it struck a nerve and that's why you felt the need to continue (well and sunken cost phallacy obviously) but again no upside and unlimited downside.

Anyway if you're in vietnam hmu for a drink but imho do yourself a favor and stop trying to get imaginary internet points - we are all dogs (on the internet ...) for good or bad but you have a name.

Take care.
