I personally think stability and having some bureaucrat monitoring hours is good. I don't want my air traffic controllers popping pills and pulling double shifts, or showing up to work drunk because they're worried about getting fired for calling in sick. People with dangerous jobs need to be kept safe from themselves

I'm not sure how many people know this, but one of the first instances of "union busting" ever committed by the US federal govt was against air traffic controllers. The job used to be extremely competitive and prestigious, but overall lower wages and security has made it way harder to attract as many highly talented individuals.

And with how many rules there are in that pdf, it's shocking we don't see multiple accidents a year.

I feel much more like ChatGPT is basically the same as Tesla's autopilot. Wonderful and seems like a huge advancement, but as it's actually applied to situations we see how banal and limited it actually is.

But loads of crypto-bro types will make millions selling ChatGPT "modernization consulting", so if you're looking to make a quick buck, highly recommend.

Sounds like a lot of variance in experience, even in this thread. But if your car isn't breaking down, sounds like you should keep using it! But also be aware of inherent differences in battery performance in cold weather when recommending EVs to other Alaskans

I love that in this scenario, school is literally daycare and we're completely limiting our entire children's growth around the imagined concerns of billion dollar mega corporations. Instead of forcing them to give leeway to the humans they employee, we just legit ruin kids carcadian rhythm

Something is only wrong from a business perspective if you lose customers (either from trust or legal means (probably in the EU))

Is Julia getting more stable? I remember that was the big issue a few years ago, especially since it calls so many weird CUDA apis.
