I don't know about other countries, but public transport buses in Australia don't have seat belts on them. Even as a kid, I remember wondering why there was such a fuss made around seat belts in cars when you couldn't use one if you wanted to on the bus.

It was funny, when I went to the Philippines for the first time, I got into a cab and was trying to put my seat belt on when everyone laughed and said "no no you don't need to do that" - and it ended up feeling super normal to not wear a seat belt there anyway.

I vaped for a while and my take was that you felt worse in general with the ability to feel better on command for a little bit.

It may be the remnants of addiction speaking, but there was something about vaping that elevated certain scenarios. I loved standing at a tall place and watching the cloud dissipate into the scenery as my eye balls and body relaxed from the nicotine. Whether it was a cityscape or a high hill, it was just lovely and I remember it fondly.

The very last time I vaped, I was in the smoking lounge at the Singapore Changi airport. It was a rough room with harsh dystopian concrete benches. In the ill lit space, I sat down and took my last drags. As I inhaled, a middle aged Chinese business man in a suit sat down next to me and silently enjoyed his cigarettes. Then we went our own ways without saying anything. I thought it was a good last time.

Also, I'm sorry, but at least for me and a friend we found it hilariously easy to quit vaping. We simply just "stopped" and that was that. I found it much more painful to quit caffeine (which induced in me a fortnight of withdrawal symptoms, sore bones and fevers).

I was blown away by Crime and Punishment. I truly felt like I was the main character, and I read it with feverish sweat and dread for my impending doom. I cringed and felt terrible sadness at the poor little lives of certain individuals. So much woe and tragedy. I was glad to see how it turned out though.

I'm currently reading Karamazov and it's good to have something a bit more jovial and dry witted.

The main difficulty is the names. The names make it so hard.

I love the Space Trilogy by Lewis but I lose my place when he describes a place. Dostoevsky is better at describing people (and bringing them to life in your mind) than Lewis is at describing a landscape.

No, this is my first time attempting to game on Linux full stop. Minecraft ran beautifully and this post may explain why - I should mention that I did enable the Vulkan setting in game (without knowing too much about it)

Great answer, also I imagine that in terms of space, one nuclear reactor would be equivalent to 10 square KM of solar panels (or something like that)

Is it safe to say that this positively affected me? For the very first time I installed Linux Mint on my old gaming with a 1080 TI and installed Minecraft/Steam. Minecraft ran beautifully and it is Java Edition 26.2. I've had a harder hit and miss time with games on Steam.

Is anyone using Aider? Is there any decent CLI alternatives to it?

I prefer our definition, but I appreciate your specificity.

Just asking - in your mind what is the difference between a chicken burger and a chicken sandwich? We Aussies argue with yanks that a burger is made by the bun and a sandwich is made by the two slices of bread.

In your understanding, what is the point of the original phrase?

I don't know how relevant it is, but my wife and I like to eat out at places where the dish/cuisine is something that we simply cannot make at home. If it is too similar, my wife will sigh "we could have just made this at home".

Food snobbery is so annoying. But as an Australian I can get behind coffee snobbery. Sorry, we're the best.

I thought this was a random guessing game and kept randomly clicking and felt very frustrated. Once I realized how it works with the two numbers, estimating felt a lot more rewarding.

I had a similar experience - and this was with zero mark down knowledge/experience. It is just a very comfy program.

I had a similar experience with other filters, such as parents and non parents.

I hope this comment is not out of place, but I am wondering what the application for all this is? How can this help us or what does it teach us or help us prove? I am asking out of genuine curiosity as I barely understand it but I believe it has something to do with probability.

edit: thanks for the responses! I was not even familiar with `git bisect` before this, so I've got some new things to learn.
