I've tried to learn rust of the longest time but failed, it's not the community that is the problem but the language itself. It is far from aesthetically pleasing, a child of perl and c++ meta template programming that inherited the worst traits of both.

Go and Python are my current preference, and C being an old soul mate.

If I understand it correctly, their target is projects like the recent pgrust (PostgreSQL in rust) which are full conversions of projects that no-one else will ever use. It's just noise.

I am not a believer, but pray that whichever $DEITY is watching over Donald Knuth allows him a healthy and long life to reach the achievement of finishing volume 7.

This is really good!

I use htop often but pretty much only use it to find pid or cpu-culprits, and never really understood the rest.

Euro5 also means >90% less exhaust fumes compared to Euro1 which was introduced 1999 iirc. The difference between a 1950 and 2026 Vespa must be huge.

Funny that the article didn't mention it.

Infineon got €1bn of tax payer money to open the plant (~$1.1bn).

48kHz has been the recommended setting with Premiere Pro as long as I can remember.

44.1kHz, isn't that what lameMP3 uses as default?

IMHO there is little point of these conversion projects. It screams of "look at me, see what I made" and when the attention goes down a little nothing was ever pushed to the repo ever again.

Perhaps I am out of touch, but a project with author/s that have passion for every line, function and purpose, feels more real and worth my trust to spend time using it.

Not often you encounter a site that makes scrolling choppy.

I don't have Facebook nor Instagram, but my partner does and so does my siblings, parents and cousins.

Photos of me undoubtedly exist on their platform, with my name as well.

Not sure I am ok with random people instantly knowing who I am and who my relatives are.

I like Angular, it feels a bit like Django. Easy to use with everything included.

I am 100% certain, that if you go to a Ferrari dealer and buy one of their cars, they will clearly inform you of their rules.

Of course you can have a friend to buy it for you, but again, it's Ferraris choice who they want to conduct business with as long as they follow the laws to the letter. Their car is their brand and they want to protect it.

You are free to do whatever, but companies are also free to choose who they conduct business with.

In the case of Ferrari, their products are essentially also rolling advertisements, so modifying them goes against what they are trying to sell.

It's not a bad thing to realize that one can be wrong and then strive for change.

The Ferrari Testarossa (F110) is probably the most beautiful of their line IMHO, hair-rising roar it has too.

Stupid question, but what if you just open an account at a credit union, then have that one connected to plaid?

If it needs to see transactions, just have your salary deposited there, then an automatic transfer the same day to your real account?

If you live in the EU and bought the car there, the GDPR still applies, even if data is sent to Toyota in Japan.

You have the full right to view and ask for deletion.

lol first I thought Meta had a rodent problem :)

Anyways, there is a ton of mouse wigglers out there, notably on aliexpress.com, many external and not connected to your workstation.

There have been an alternative out for a while called Pixelfed (https://pixelfed.org/)

Tried it for a while but wasn't enough cats.
