I have used neither in quite a while now but there is an alternative from jetbrains that i started using because it shares the same ergonomics and had better (?) documentation.

While I don’t think you’re wrong with respect to the mechanics of the algorithm favoring „engaging“ content. However at the same time I do think that they have the finger on the scales because the media company’s know full well what they’re serving. I bet there’s not a lot of pro democracy content trending on Chinese TikTok the same way anti democratic content is served in western TikTok

Related: How is it possible for Google in 2026 to get away without a cookie banner that allows you to manage your tracking preferences? The cookie notification only links to a "Learn more" [0] page but provides no specifics on how cookies are used on this site? Is this some legal wizardry or plain ignorance of the GDRP?

Russia and China would likely disagree as they count their gains: - yet another massive blow to their trust and reputation among allies - again massively undermining NATO thereby fostering global instability - weakened credibility vis a vis defending Taiwan

I don’t think it’s misleading (at all) when you take into account that the index is volume weighted. If you held two different stocks: 1 from megacorp worth 90; 1 from smallcorp worth 10; if megacorp is down 10% while smallcorp is up 10%. Your portfolio would still be worth less even though 50% of your portfolio positions are up.

Just because it's a binary choice doesn't make it a 50/50 chance. Flipping a fair coin (50/50) is different from flipping a weighted coin (say 80/20) even though the possible outcomes are the same.

The light is a mere technicality. Zuck himself was smart enough to cover his laptop cam/camera with tape 10 years ago[0].

I see - thanks for taking the time by writing this up and adding a little more texture to the debate

would you care to clarify on this? are you saying the current administration has been corrupted by foreign adverseries? or has the administration been outsmarted by foreign adverseries?

Can someone enlighten me what people actually use this for? The article mentions „managing your calendar, responding to emails, file your taxes“

The bottleneck for emails and my calendar is not the speed at which I can type/click some buttons, but rather figuring out what I want to write or clarifying priorities when managing my calendar.

I wouldn’t worry too much about those threats. This administration is so erratic that you may see those same threats made against you for any other reason down the line even if you keep it put.

Maybe the implementation will be challenging in one aspect or another but are there any reasons why you would you rather keep the current patchwork?

What kind of ridiculous stupidity is it to endanger the greatest military alliance in history? You give up the credible deterrent that all member states enjoy and contribute for what exactly? A bunch of minerals you could have had with a simple treaty? Military access that you already enjoyed? China and Russia must be laughing hard at this amateur shit show

One reason you may want to care about this "fake money" is the buy, borrow, die tax avoidance scheme you can run if you're asset rich [1]

You may call them pathetic or hysterical but that doesn’t change the fact that the sentiment is real. The pace at which the current administration is burning through political capital that has been built over the last century is truly staggering and makes me wonder how much there will be left in three years time.

It's high time the Republicans embrace their new leadership with a re-branding of their outfit's name and henceforth call themselves The Banana Republicans

I‘d draw a different conclusion namely that it’s decidedly pro republican via omission. There is not a single reference to the current administration‘s role (which Vance is obviously part of) in dismantling the US democratic norms and institutions.
