Because serious science is hard and valuable for its rigour, and shouldn't be compared with just poking at data to see what happens

Slight criticism of the headline there, you can't get cheaper per dollar.

Can you get, for example in python, a tool that parses the ast and builds a very concise graph of function calls into a map, with file names, so that AI can do tool calls on this before updating any code? Instead of the grepping which is what we have.

Well oil is "green". Burning oil releases carbon dioxide which is plant food and contributes to global greening. This isn't good, because it also contributes to global warming, but I don't really understand why people conflate "green" with renewables. The greenest the planet has ever been was during the carboniferous period, where plants had feasted on unusually high levels of atmospheric co2.

This seems like it has nothing to do with the technology and everything to do with the confusion that has always arisen when 6 people try and split a bill, it has always been like that. As for "secretly" trying to pay for an apple crumble, I have no idea how technology is supposed to help there. The way QR code scans usually work is you scan, order, and pay individually.

There's an article related to the headline linked at the top which explains it.

"The upper horn ensures perfect balance, the cutaways make it easier to play in the upper registers, and the contours of the body increase playing comfort. The shape of the Stratocaster was created to provide musicians with the most functional and ergonomic tool possible.

This is exactly why it has been taken up, developed further and reinterpreted by luthiers all over the world over decades."

What I learned is that you "spent a few really hard, deeply interesting weeks trying to give words to this", and yet you still, still, still could not bring yourself to write those words down yourself without asking an LLM for help.

Pretty straightforward idiomatic English, no? It means disinclined to compromise, yielding poor results.

There are many other potential explanatory factors than your simple binary. Black people in America started in a very bad and difficult position, only a few generations ago, with huge racial discrimination, no money, and generational distrust of institutions. That is a factor that will affect what you see today without any current system of racial discrimination or inferiority.
