I love the 'boring and hidden' aspect. I used to have a huge stereo system. Nowadays I have a PC with a good sound card. It runs Kodi and is hooked up to two active speakers.
Everything my old rack would do has been replicated in software at state of the art quality with free software. Any old desktop PC is powerful enough.
A cheap app that will provide results comparable to Neumann, Trinnov or Lyngdorf is drc-fir [0]. It will correct frequency response and phase while correcting the reverberation in your listening room. It's free software and quite well documented.
Finally, I can decorate my virtual home with blood splatters, a bag of dope, a gun and a grinder.
In all seriousness, the application is pretty cool but some of the 3d models included make me imagine some of the gruesome scenarios that need to be modeled like this. Hat's off to the people who do this in order to solve crimes. I know I could't stomach some of it.
The only thing better than a Miele is a Miele Professional. All the benefits of the household models but a lot faster. My PG8081 takes 36 minutes when it's full. That's when it's connected to 230 volts. My friend has the same model running on 380 volt, it takes 21 minutes. In both cases the machines are connected to hot water as solar water heating panels are installed.
I hope they really push this concept and sell the hardware at a loss. A lime micro SDR with a raspberry pi in a box is a radio hacker's dream come true.
The fact that she never got around to learning the ranks of the soldiers in the army didn't help either. It looked like she didn't really care and would rather be doing something else.
I'm in Germany and can absolutely confirm these impressions. Factories are closing and moving abroad. The misguided policies are forcing them to. Publicly traded multinational companies that are beholden to their shareholders cannot stay here, even if the management would like to.
High end Miele is absolutely fantastic. I bought a professional grade machine (PG 8081) second hand and I love it. I have it hooked up to the warm water faucet so that it uses water heated by our solar panels. It cleans way better than I could ever do by hand and it takes no more than 36 minutes. The thing is built like a tank and they can go for as little as €300 second hand. My machine cost the first owner 2879 when it was new and it shows. Build quality and usability is excellent. I actually enjoy doing the dishes now.
