No disagreement here. I had never planned to use it for email, but I was bored and I already had it when I got an idea.

You get an email bounce back with an error code in it. Is there some other definition I'm unaware of?

Wait, that is probably from the local mailer, and otherwise the sender may never know about the rejected messages.

Is Cloudflare a cheapo VPS?

It is a cheap VPS, but it would still be nice if there was a way to know (not assume) beforehand.

> 550 5.7.1 Unfortunately, messages from [IP ADDRESS] weren't sent. Please contact your Internet service provider since part of their network is on our block list (S3150).

> Your IP(s) qualify for conditional mitigation.

Still blocked. The system is working as expected.

And sometimes if you do everything right, it still doesn’t work.

Recently I checked the IP against blacklists, waited a few months, did all of the other things, and then found out Microsoft bounces my entire VPS’s IP range. Appealing did not help.

They intermittently block Cloudflare email routing IPs too. All of these security measures and still it comes down to the IP address of your sender.

My Toyota has a button to _enable_ lane keeping. This is how it should be.

I miss feeling like I was "in the zone", but I haven't been able to achieve it in years.

Between having kids and a work situation a few years back, it is like my brain expects to be interrupted at any moment, so won't get there.

I think a lot of people forget this. Similar to how the retired/disabled people in my life forget how busy life with a job can be.

At the gas stations I worked at, the shifts were 7AM-3PM, 3PM-11PM, and 11PM-7AM.

I used to do a lot of things at abnormal times. What does a quick beer after work look like when you're done at 7AM?

I also don't know many unemployed people cruising around malls looking for ways to spend money.

As a counterpoint, I’m not sure what everybody is doing to their Nextcloud installs. Many people have problems so I believe they are real, but I’m not sure where I’ve gone so right.

Right now I use Docker compose, with the major version pinned so it doesn’t surprise me. I verify app compatibility before changing that major version.

I use PostgreSQL as the DB.

I've never had real problems with it, and it wasn't for lack of trying.

I've been using Nextcloud since it forked from OwnCloud, and I was running OwnCloud before that. It was on a NAS with 64MB RAM and a 500MHz CPU at one point.

I've run it bare metal, with different Linux distros, on FreeBSD, in VMs, in LXC containers, in Docker containers, with different PHP versions, with different web servers, with different DBs, on terrible hardware, on powerful hardware, more. So many combinations.

This same thing happened to me almost 20 years ago without AI. The pictures were all of another identical apartment in the building.

When we went there to see the one we’d actually be renting, it was clear it hadn’t been cleaned in years, doors were off the hinges, counters had holes burned in them, stove was kicked in, etc.

Ran fast from that “deal”.

I think they mean to say that it is fine as long as you no longer need a server or account once it is downloaded from their server.

You would be allowed to keep a backup, play the backup, transfer the backup, etc.

Most guitar pedals are 9V DC but not all.

Some are 12v. Some will take 18v. I have an oddball that takes 9V AC. Some are 9V DC but flip the positive and negative. It can be a mess too.

The product you link to has outlets for 9V, 12V and 18V.

If you stuck to one PC manufacturer, I’d imagine you could have your wish. Dell laptops were the same 19V and same DC pin for years and years.

I thought USB-C PD would save us but it has a few pitfalls, apparently.

If you were going to use a streaming service, say Netflix or Prime Video, do you still get 4K and HDR10 this way?

Yet, allegedly, half of mechanics want to quit.

https://www.motor1.com/news/706716/study-automotive-techs-qu...

The mechanics I know personally despise the model dealerships work under, where time is often an arbitrary number with no connection to reality, but it does decide your paycheque.

Syncing isn't a KeePassXC problem. The database is just a file. That may or may not make your life easier.

There are a few decent Android and iOS apps that work well. I use Nextcloud and WebDAV for access.

Not a setup I can recommend to just anybody though.

It is amazing how resistant people are to having their children walk to school in my neighbourhood.

They will complain endlessly about having nowhere to park, traffic, and dangerous driving but would never consider having their child walk. It is too dangerous.

Or has the situation improved lately?

Tom’s sherbert tastes delicious, I’m sure, but it’s a strange name for a Linux distro.

Empathy, I’m not sure, but I can confirm the lack of patience.

I had less time, less energy, and my tolerance for BS plummeted accordingly.
