I wouldn't want to hold any Internet-based stocks for "decades". I believe the life span of any public company to be 25 years or less, with Internet service companies being significantly less.
There will always be nation-states. Always. Put ten strangers on an island and they will organically form a hierarchy and political alliances will happen. There will never be a government-less world as long as we're human.
Yesterday I saw a "startup" on /r/startups that was a twitter account that retweets oil prices. People are calling a twitter account a "startup" now. WTF?
If there were more in-depth documentaries about programmers, you would probably find the same types of personalities reign supreme...emotional, introverted, weird. If you consider yourself "normal" & "emotionally stable", then you probably aren't a very creative programmer.
You are saying you would hire the accuser before her case is even sorted out? Why do you assume her version of events are true, and her employer's version false?
Just because you don't get the promotion you feel entitled to, doesn't mean you should sue your employer for discrimination.

Riiiight. So I should have to scour FAQ pages and TOSs in order to disambiguate that this is an opt-out-only membership-type club with recurring charges? Go to their home page and tell me it doesn't look like another zappos. Does zappos continually charge me if I don't come back? No. Then click on "How JustFab works"...does it say ANYTHING about recurring membership fees? No, it makes the site seem to be just some kind customized shopping service.
JustFab isn't going to help disambiguate their business model up front because that would hurt their bottom line.
Who has liability when a user of mine says their account got hacked? The email provider? My site? Mozilla?
If one of my users has $100 go missing from their account, then they are going to expect me to replace it, not the email provider, not mozilla. I don't like the idea of shifting security to a outside platform, because I still retain all the liability when things go bad, and they always will (key loggers, spyware...)
Sites that deal with financial transactions will be reluctant to adopt this for sure.
I don't trust any "organization" to store and manage my passwords. A single subpoena to mozilla for a divorce proceeding or whatever could unleash cascading consequences upon you.
But how much money does a poker player burn through before he/she is "good enough" to play in big tournaments and win decent money? A couple hundred thousand? A couple million?
It's like when someone wants to trade stocks/derivatives. They may lose massive amounts of money before getting their sea-legs and that is a price that is far too high for most people (and their families) to endure without gaining anything tangible.
And I wouldn't think that "Professional Poker Player" is a title that would land a high paying job like a university degree might. If someone is spending all their time learning to be a pro poker player, it might back them into a corner where now that's all they're are capable of doing for the rest of their life whether they win or not.
Variable reward systems, like gambling, are damn hard addictions to break once conditioning has set in.
