> Come to think of it, seems China is the only country so far (in modern times) that haven't abused their military to enforce their will on smaller countries

Philippines would disagree with this one.

As a person who started lifting weights in my young age of 40 something, and doing it for a bit over 2 years consistently, I'll add that your muscles absolutely fucking love it. Seeing something which is a round skin and bone turn into angular muscle and tendon mass is intoxicating and a great morale booster. I just wish I have started earlier which probably would have saved me for going to two ugly spine surgeries.

I really enjoyed TA back in the day. And I still remember the fantastic music background which dynamically changed if you went into battle. Starcraft was released after and it looked so ancient compared to TA in my view. But all my friends played SC at the time so it took over.

I got a worrying one: a day after getting opus 4.8, I tasked CC to add specific TXT records to our subdomain.example.com as per ticket I've received. CC has access to that ticket via Atlassian MCP, and started doing terraform code changes in a local git branch. Somewhere along the way it said that to do that it needs an approval from a company's VP (ticket requester) as "subdomain.example.com" is critical (it isn't). Then it refused to open a pull request, immediately deleted the local git branch along with all the changes and refused to proceed without evidence of approval from that VP. No amount of explaining, then pleading, and then threatening moved it. It was surreal and I was shocked and frankly pissed. It was amusing in the end because the day earlier it had no problem adding those same TXT records to example.com. Codex did those changes in 1/4 of time and no complaining.

I can't stop having vivid, and mostly bad dreams with it making me tired the next day. I guess I should switch to something else.

Mismanaging your household finances can ruin your livelihood and you might end up on the street.

Mismanaging a company which you didn’t build won’t ruin your livelihood. It might of the employees. It may weight heavy on your conscience but we’ve heard enough of those “I take full responsibility” phrases that we know how heavy is that.

I have a small gym next to my home office and I just cannot do it. When I train I need to be 100% focused on the exercises otherwise in the best case I'll stagnate, and in the worst I'll injure myself. So instead I do some mindless chores if time allows.

Just like that excellent Yes Minister episode about hospitals - I imagine they have more then enough internal busywork so they have no time for their customers. Which the older am I the more this seems true.

That still shouldn't be a part of post mortem, more of a performance review item.

The "coin" part is usually detachable, so no need to leave the whole set of keys with the cart during shopping.

The unexpected benefit which I've noticed when switching from a small, light car to a heavier, medium EV car is that the latter doesn't drive/feel any worse when fully loaded. Makes the trips that much more pleasant.

I wrote a "CMS" in college as a project in PHP (really hot then) so you could drag txt files and images into whatever directories and it would create web pages based on that. Professors were not impressed: "why you would want such thing, a MS Access would be better". I was disappointed, but hey, that's life.

Cloning a repo and running things from it are two very different things.

I use a popsocket on a naked iphone 14 pro and it's great in my experience. I don't think I've dropped it once after going worth this setup.

And how much better would be if it had a physical connector so it's much more efficient. So you would have a bigger total charge and it wouldn't cook both batteries in the process. One can dream though.

Terrible mobile-first or "web 2.0" redesign.

No, in reality it's "buy a newer model of the same car" strategy. They don't really care about the current/old model.
