Agreed, I was just making a comment that the changes can be from the artists and not the services.

I've been streaming music since Yahoo music, but have started to change my ways by buying vinyl or digital through the artists own site or bandcamp. It's less about my music changing and more about supporting the artists instead of the corporations taking a big cut.

I mean it's clearly not caring about the author of the works. With a Disney movie you're not making a difference in the creators pockets, but an author of a book or a comic do feel the effects of pirating.

> If consumers just made a leap for physical copies again it also wouldn’t be this way.

How so? When DVDs and VHS were at their most popular not everything was in print or available.

They've been changing album covers and songs since at least the 70s. This isn't anything new or recent, except streaming makes it a lot more convenient while also getting artists out of hot legal water like the Gorillaz change. I'm not here to defend streaming services (vampires), but changes are coming from the artist and not the service. Youtube didn't take out the spongebob sample in the Gorillaz song.

This guy was lying like crazy in the media. He even said it was a ponzi scheme. Maybe he's a dumbass but he's also a criminal who was committing crimes while out there doing PR the whole time. Even during his trial he was lying so let's not act like he was in over his head and made some mistakes. He's never even owned up to it.

It is free even without purchase. I could give someone an old iPhone and they can use it without issue.

That's a huge stretch to say anyone that watches or listens to pirated entertainment would never pay for it. I wish people that use pirated entertainment would just admit that they don't want to pay for it.

Can you buy bitcoin with other crypto? Some of that makes sense if you can create a currency, pump it's value, and then exchange for bitcoin.

Apple has the same kind of gap with iCloud.

I don't really know anything about 8chan but my limited experience watching videos on YouTube leads me to believe that there are millions of people being radicalized through technology. Young, angry, possibly under-educated people can easily fall down into a rabbit hole of hate like never before.

It's definitely an issue worldwide regardless of race, religion or gender and unfortunately no one has the answer. I don't know if 8chan going down really helps stop radicalization but I don't think it hurts. I also don't think it's an affront to free speech if a hosting provider stops doing business with them. If the US government started arresting posters on 8chan that's most definitely a concern but losing your Cloudflare service or hosting is not breaking any first amendment rights.

Those 500,000 views wouldn't have had ads shown on them. Some solutions might be: 1. Being able to automatically unpublish the video if it's de-monitized. 2. Have a monitoring service available that can fight copyright claims in real-time. 3. Don't upload at night and then go to sleep. :)

Muito bom! I'm not sure I understood more than 10% of this but I love the concept and the determination to follow through on it.
