Same here, but when a site completely fails in Firefox I either A) use my phone because mobile Firefox occasionally works or B) use Ungoogled Chromium.

https://github.com/ungoogled-software/ungoogled-chromium

Really hoping the uBlock will continue to work on that project...

...I get different numbers depending on which eye I use, but both are fairly center. I didn't expect blue-green to be affected though! My left eye can't see certain shades of red as well as my right eye. Bright sunlight makes it more noticeable, but my own skin looks weirdly (sickly) yellowish with one eye and normal with the other.

Whenever it's come up at home, my spouse simply insists "I don't need to know the difference between aqua, turquoise, and seafoam. They're all blue." At this point I just nod and agree, it's not worth the fight anymore. ;)

This. Right now, I'm assuming you're all humans, and so are all my coworkers, and the other people driving cars around me and etc. How easy is it to dehumanize actual humans? If I don't try to remain polite in all written English conversations, including the LLMs, that's going to trickle over to the rest of my interactions too. Doesn't mean they deserve it, just that it's a habit I know I need to maintain.

Or, god forbid, stupid creature that I am, I buy _the wrong flavor food_. Then it's all "why are you trying to poison me, hooman? do you not love me anymore??"

It really depends on where you live. I've found this site useful:

https://xerces.org/pollinator-conservation/pollinator-friend...

Make a few beds and allow them to be "wild" based on your region. All sorts of pollenating insects will show up, eventually.

I wish. I got a Dell laptop for work and they've replaced the right Ctrl key with a Copilot key, and (because it's a locked-down work sysyem) the only thing I can remap that to is the Windows menu. And I keep hitting it out of muscle memory, interrupting everything. But at least now it doesn't launch Copilot.

Which I could add is "the only AI approved for use by IT" because they hate us.

I've heard good things about Tidal (https://tidal.com) but it's not open source afaik.

We had a feeder just outside our floor-to-ceiling windows. Whenever the feeder ran out the Anna's hummingbirds would hover a couple inches from the glass, staring in at us like little bird mafiosos, demanding their due...

Some of us knew it, but it's getting worse. And I've worked adjacent to or on marketing teams for the the last decade... and I can't explain why but my theory is they all trust the numbers implicitly, esp. the ad spend. Having to justify your department's continued existence via KPIs that need to exponentially increase year over year means bloated numbers are a good thing. They can just blame sales for never closing deals.

I had the same setup in school- alternating schedules- and had to keep my schedule printed out in my bag to reference between almost every class, every day. I still have dreams (nightmares?) to this day about not knowing which class I was supposed to be going to next and ending up in the wrong place without the work done.

I have to keep a list of everything in a doc of some sort or I can't remember anything I've "accomplished"... and I when I tell my coworkers that my memory resets every weekend and half of Monday is spent rediscovering what it is I'm supposed to be doing all week, they think I'm joking.
