Hi all, I'm Remy.

I'm looking for an entry-level engineering role.

-- About Me:

I’ve debated really deeply with myself to whether I should speak about my uncommon experiences/work history during my job search. I’m afraid that people don’t want to see that, but I decided that I should be honest and open, and hopefully good luck will come to me.

So, to begin, I worked in restaurants for the past 2-3 years (pandemic era). Even though it’s wasn't I loved, it was a job. I aspire to excel at any task that I'm given, so I worked really hard on improving, constantly questioning myself, being humbled and taking hard-to-hear advice. That attitude ultimately allowed moving up to chef and management roles. I felt that I could be successful in that industry, but I took a big scary risk and used my small savings to quit, and work on getting back into software development as a freelancer.

Since that (about a year ago) I’ve had mild success with client work, but *what I really want is to join a team* so I can accelerate, learn, and contribute to an organized group. I found that freelancing doesn’t afford that opportunity. Despite that, I’ve spent the past year getting my brain back into coding shape. I feel so ready, eager, and so incredibly nervous.

I’m working really hard to make my dreams come true. I’m the child of immigrants with less than high school degrees. I didn’t have the chance to finish college. I want to defy the odds. I’m becoming an expert at learning from my failures. I want so badly to work with a development team where I’m being pushed and earning experience.

* tl;dr: If you felt impelled by what you read, and you’re looking a fast learner who’s eager, determined, thoughtful, and resourceful, I might be the one. I have a lot to offer and I would be humbled and honored if you give me the chance to be part of your team. Please please consider my resume and website if you take the time to screen my work *

Thank you,

Remy https://remyhunt.net/files/resume.pdf

I'm a young and eager-to-learn front-end developer with strong design literacy. I've worked internships at both product and consulting tech companies.

I have been experiencing hardships for the past few years and and am finally taking the time and risk to fully re-enter my software engineering career. With those came skills, perspectives, and communication abilities that will enrich my life for years to come. Please consider my unusual path as a strength. I would appreciate to hear about any opportunity that would allow me to contribute and grow.
