To me it's not about "don't judge", but about not treating sexual things like they're special. Notice how both of your examples of potentially over-the-line content are also of a sexual nature.
That may be all there's to it, but I bet the fact that it's sexual makes all the difference. Do you think Bucephalus355 would have bothered to complain about it if the scene was of a woman puking?
It's dumb and it's there to pander to an edgy audience, but it really shouldn't be a problem. Why does that scene bother you? Isn't it just because that stuff is taboo?
The importance of music and the importance of software is worlds apart. Not to mention there's enough music already made to cover everyone's need. Software is nowhere near that.
Should we really be incentivizing making music as a career? And besides, I don't think the bulk of music is being created by people being compensated for it.
The web is incredibly bloated unfortunately. I had to upgrade my RAM recently because I couldn't open too many browser tabs without making the system hang, even with javascript disabled. Apart from that, you can do almost everything from the command line so even an old Raspberry Pi could be usable as a desktop computer.
>But if all you see is the extreme then well.. I can't help you.
I think everyone who isn't very interested in this matter is only seeing the extreme. At least that's all that seems to reach me. Maybe the identity politics people could do a better job of showing their reasonable side.
It's not optimistic, just simplified. Surely you agree that Valve could escape Google's claws on Android much more easily than they can escape Microsoft claws on Windows? Heck, they could even partner with Amazon!
