It would be interesting to correlate the decline with the presence of wind-turbines and wind farms not mentioned in these studies.

"Leaders command people". No, real leaders don't. Those with a military background that have been in situations where shit was all over the fan will agree.

I am looking forward to the book and am particularly curious if it will address the origin of "conspiracy cultures" as I personally feel a lot has to do with governments and media plain lying and manipulating. It keeps me puzzled why conspiracies are not simply addressed but somehow need to be silenced instead. Maybe the book will provide insight or answers.

Is there a reason windturbine effects on bird decline are not used in this study?

After double digit years in software development, terms keep confusing me and often the ease with which they are introduced often puzzle me. Like map, set, list, array, object, subject, collection and switch. The way every other language uses them in a slightly different way is confusing for English natives, let alone foreign languages. It is not only documentation that is lacking, it is also the way every other new kid on the block implements the same thing in a completely different way.

"And vaccines work because they teach immune systems to recognize — and so more effectively resist — pathogens before the actual bug is encountered." Is a bold claim that has yet to be proven empirically.

Most whistleblowers have a high moral and ethical standard. In current societies where people make it to the top lying, cheating and misusing or even suppressing others, we watch movies about Jedi and turn a blind eye to the dark side the minute the TV is turned off. Humans are an odd species.

I like the way the mineyest ecosystem is progressing. I am a huge fan of Minecraft and we turned it into a family thing running our own server. But the take-over by Microsoft feels like a pain and I really dislike that since the move to Microsoft I now have to grant my teen daughters access via a family page.

In my opinion everybody has a right to an opinion. It saddens me that you feel like the entire linux community is gaslighting you, I sure ain't and do not intend to.

I use GNOME every day. What I like is that it isn't to much. The main use to me of any window manager is to use my mouse as little as possible, be able to tweak all of the underlying hardware and peripherals and get access to my tools with as little interaction as possible. And I want it to "just work" whether it is my home desktop with 4 monitors, or my 14" desktop. GNOME delivers just that for me. Nothing more and nothing less. Of course this is just my humble opinion.

Accounting firms don't use calculators that often. They mostly use "What number do you need from us to give you fantasized credit ratings to fool the taxpayers". Accounting firms would benefit greatly from biased AI.

Absolutely! Laziness is the reason so many bright minds waste their talent in optimizing ads, maximizing nudging and producing clickbait because "it pays me such an awesome salary" and this same laziness is slowly causing the decline of big tech. Stay human, it is what we are.

I recognize your journey. Most of my GitHub work has gone stale and although I didn't say goodbye, most of my work is now on GitLab where it receives more love and care and where I am certain I could always move to a self hosted instance if GitLab decided to go in a direction that doesn't match my philosophy. GitHub has been an interesting ride, a place where I landed after sourceforge and codeplex went upside down. I felt at home until I didn't. Thank you GitHub for the great things we achieved.
