After it took over and solidified itself as the world leader at it of course there was no need to steal IP anymore, most of it is registered there already and to the benefit of their nation. I'm sure people a hundred years from now will be having similar conversations if china or someone else takes the us's place and naturally starts caring about IP(and the runner ups stop caring).

so what do you propose is to be done? you simply stop people from buying tesla stock so that the price doesn't go up and he doesn't get as much money? Seriously i'm really struggling to understand what you are proposing here.

And is bought by people that think the company is valuable enough to give the stock said value. You can argue that those people are wrong, sure, but I don't get what point you're trying to make. He isn't taking money away from someone else or being given "underserved" rewards, when the people that are keeping the value of what he receives believes it to be of such value.

the messages are rendered client-side and there's no way discord will bother messing with detection of client-side bot "tampering" that scrapes the output, and that's assuming it would be even necessary to do it this way. It's entirely pointless, if someone wants to do harm with the information its trivial to get it regardless of TOS, and those that don't get the short end of the stick.

At the end of the day the last thing discord cares about realistically is keeping their users "safe" anyway (and rightfully so in my opinion).

does vscode not have something akin to the apropos command from emacs? that tends to help quite a bit
