I can say, I didn't do so beautiful pictures back in the 80's in my French School

That’s the purpose of a restoration, like la gallerie des glasses à Versailles or Le Louvre and many other monuments in France.

The same applies to paintings

Not sure but I think these lights are temporary the time for the ceremony, I would be very surprised they keep using them while other French cathedrals don’t.

French monuments get restored all the time that’s how we keep our patrimoine . And in this case, we can’t speak about modernisation…

Wow must have a very self confidence to think people are so dumbs especially after what I’ve be done during 5 years (or having a very poor historical culture)

If you love this one, you should visit Notre Dame de Strasbourg :)

Af French, I’m happy they took that way. Especially many submissions were quite ugly.

I prefer the approach taken at The Louvre and it’s pyramid of glass that is built next to the historical buildings without modifying them and giving a nice mix between history and modernity

You’ll have to wait a long time to think about it, lot of materials of the cathédrale are originals (especially the stones)

There was already one but I guess an old system as it took quite some times to locate the fire

The missing feature of IRC is to be able to get all the messages even when you’re offline. V3 was as missed opportunity for that

I manage many PostgreSQL databases, the only time it was a pain, it was due to PostGIS upgrade but not the postgresql cluster itself…

You don’t need to dump and re import the database since a long long time…

Not only, the ability to replicate hardware allow to render some effects that can’t be render with software emulation. I’ll try to find the video I saw on YT explaining that point.
