If Apple broadcasts their surveillance strategy so publicly, wouldn't criminals stop using Apple products and delete their iCloud data immediately? Who will be left to "catch" at that point? The most incompetent criminals?
I'm missing how this will actually work if perpetrators knew Apple was going to analyze their data beforehand. Could someone explain?
