You can pay Apple to replace it for you, and the cost is not that high. £90 or so.

If the battery swap fails, you’ll get a as-new replacement phone and you also won’t be charged.

In exchange for this monetary cost and the inconvenience of leaving your phone at an Apple Store for 1 hour; you get peace of mind and a highly rated water/dust proof phone.

(Seriously, I’ve seen people diving with iPhones - no case - recording videos.)

Us British have a unique relationship with profanity as a way to communicate.

edit: Aussies and kiwis too!

They pushed a firmware update which blocked direct use of your printer without using their proprietary “Bambu Connect” application - because ‘security’.

> I am ok assembling the machine and learning how to dial it in.

Get a Prusa Core One kit, or build a Voron.

Bambulab should be off the table for their bait and switch behaviour. AMS is not particularly impressive and very wasteful. Get a Bondtech INDX down the road if you want true multi material printing.

Incorrect. Author may not have had the required savings to rebuy the position he wanted.

I can recommend the Finamp beta if you've not tried it already!

Nope, sorry. :(

Jellyfin (server), Finamp (iOS client) and Tauon (Linux client) for me.

As per the article, the modded CPU isn’t required.

I think many of the commenters here are confusing overthinking projects (what the article is about[1]) and risks (not what the article is about).

Is it sensible to think long and hard about the behaviour of a strategy which trades real money in real markets? Yes.

Is it sensible to spend a week (or any time at all really) deciding if you should use an alpine base image in your docker container or something else? No.

> I get that it's cool, but I'm missing the why?

I'm a hacker, I did it because it's cool and I wanted to learn.

No, but I had to implement a lock feature because my colleagues apparently cannot be trusted...

Yeah, it's a sit/stand Linak desk.

I hooked up an ESP32, 2 channel relay (up/down control), and distance sensor (to detect height). Pushes height to graphite and position is settable remotely. :)

My desk height is set with a GET.

I was going to fix it, but considering how hilarious this is I might not.

That makes a lot of sense, when explained. I was thinking more from a branding perspective. :P
