while systemd is indeed a turd, linux userspace sucks compared to bsd.

rust is still a non starter in some niche embedded applications (way too big). i still write c and assembly constantly.

depends on size, location, contents, risk, a million other factors. people are not paying 1m/jump to get stuffed freightered around by jita lol

do you use a dark theme in a well lit room? i did for my first year as a dev long ago and got the worst eye fatigue of my life all the time. as soon as i switched to a light theme that matched the room i had zero problems since, that’s my anecdoata

the billing options, the server selections and technology, come to mind.

also should not mention but some regional vpns (dig around the area you like) quite often do not get get hellflagged as vpn ip. cloudflare usually gets it but it has never been obnoxious like i’ve seen on others.

oh and most importantly, i have 5gbit symmetrical fiber and most close servers nearly saturate both ways and i dont think ive ever seen go below 500mbit. excellent speeds most the time, ive never seen any other provider come close but only tried a few others. steal for the price.

i also like you can set custom dns while active, i use along nextdns

no, it’s a matter of contrast and readability and matching your ambient lighting. i’m in a warmly lit backlit room. i don’t sit in the dark like an interrupt gremlin

not to mention that light themes produce less eye fatigue and strain. but who cares about that

actually understanding how computers work is important. LLMs still do a terrible job in many of my domains.

writing the code was never the hard part.

this is completely ignoring the botting issue that was so bad lately it pushed pros out of ssl and severely messed up MMR. this season is the first one that is remotely playable in a while

if a games competitive scene consists of a small old boys club tier rules do yourself a favor and don’t bother. bar was very much this when i tried it last year. i also got kicked at the start of several games for no apparent obvious reason as a new player lol. very unwelcoming community

people have already become accustomed to low quality software, luckily just in time for ai llms to finally start generating somewhat usable code (in small context) for h1b prompt pilots. silicon valley rejoicing

after looking at it, i would use anything else over the roku stuff if i felt the need for tasking. bare metal esp32 is easy with the espressif sdk anyway .

esp32 is way too power budget heavy for anything using batteries though. even using all deep sleep available a msp430 will leave it in the dust by a large factor. i’m surprised they use such large devices in remotes but go figure
