then in my opinion your dad is most likely a victim of insane extrapolation and distraction and/or a brilliant cult leader. this way of thinking most resembles 'brainstorming' not science nor fact-checking and while it can seem super intelligent in spectacular ways, is dangerous when not kept in check. from a psychological and sociological perspective.
especially when spoken by an authoritive figure or supposed credible source and taken for more than it is.
