On the other hand that space makes it far easier to work on myself.

My Subaru has almost zero free space under the hood and there are all kinds of repairs I wouldn't attempt because you have to disassemble half the engine to get to anything.

Take a look at "Destruction sequence" but basically the destructors are chained together and called one after another to free all resources rather than forming one destructor for the derived object. That being said it is still effectively one object in memory.

Arguably taxpayers also get to choose who they vote for. You can argue about the effectiveness of the democratic process in the US but it feels a tad disingenuous to suggest we have no responsibilities in this system we are all apart of.
