AI makes certain types of people, like those who need to be trained, obsolete.

Eh, we might be all better off if a lack of curiosity was more regularly financially excruciating.

That’s the value of tailwind. You can just skip learning CSS and still get a good result. The benefit to learning it is marginal.

BigTech is far more competent than a Telco though.

Most breaches are not in the interests of management, but they happen anyway as management wants to save money or doesn't understand how it could happen.

> And obviously, a simple email to the data governance and privacy office would be taken extremely seriously.

What is this based on? I used to work for a data governance and privacy vendor that supplied data for audits. Tons and tons of customers asked us to fudge their data.

This is after the Delve scandal, where the hottest tech compliance company was completely fraudulent and numerous other hot tech companies also had completely fraudulent audits.

This is not a reasonable assumption.

Cops are too dumb to comprehend that. They would proclaim it impossible and order more donuts.

Most simple criminals get away with their crimes. Anyone with any level of sophistication does as well.

Anecdotally, I am consulting for a few of these and they are nowhere near that, haha.

Everything still requires 5 approvals, so the challenge now is scrambling for attention.

The UAE is a bunch of absolute monarchies. You are applying the processes of a democracy to hereditary absolute monarchies.

And we would be stupid to give them as access to cheese afterward. They had that chance and blew it.

There is unlikely to be any thaw within our lifetimes.

Trump is also often anti capitalist, between tariffs and government shares in business. There is what fascists say and what they do, and industrialists were often very good Nazis.

A friend and I have a contract with a local university here in Canada.

They paid for custom on prem software and in over a year, they have not fully provided both access and infrastructure for install it.

We have been paid already, but they paid for a tool they can’t get their shit together enough to let us install.

Depends? Are those more narrow one’s better and people have a better idea of what ideal looks like?

I’m kind of horrified at people saying they had/have to work at their best friendships as with my best friends, everything is seamless.

There are no misunderstandings. We never have to forgive each other. We never even need to clarify things for each other much, as we are that well aligned.

Granted it may not be possible, but ideally go find a better match in a friend.

I think we should want to disincentivize any person from having too much power and wealth is power.

In politics, power is everything. You do not matter without power.

Fiscal conservatism only exists as an ideology when paired with hurting brown people. It does not exist as a meaningful political camp otherwise.

There is a reason that fiscal conservatives spend all their time on food stamps, environmental regulations, and a few random research projects and not even examining any of the top four costs that make up the overwhelming bulk of US spending.

Eh, if you see the reaction to Flock Safety, people object to that one as well.
