hehe, I used in my college classes, at Technical University of Moldova, my teacher was a bit on the fence about it (he was demanding Matlab, but the uni wasn't providing any licenses), but he reluctantly agreed to it. Worked pretty fine, I could use my linux laptop, and didn't need to crack matlab.

Yeah, i remember being prescribed ampicillin and aspirin for every cold, as a child. They didn't care, they only wanted to "do something". I remember in highschool having a colleague who's overprotective mother was also a germophobe, and was treating her only son with ever increasing doses of antibiotics every winter. By the time we met, pills had no effect(according to them, the hell knows what they meant by "effectiveness"), and he was getting intramuscular ones. The poor people probably never learned that there almost no antivirals, and are doing more harm that good. Antibiotics are thought to be a panacea around here, in eastern Europe.

In my case, medicine and diet had little effect. And I was in pretty bad shape, i got to the emergency room several times a week with awful abdominal pain, vomiting, constipation. A different doctor adviced me to eat anything I want, but for at least half a year to eat kefir with every meal. That worked. Whenever I feel like my digestive tract is getting funny, i add a few bottles of kefir for a few days.

I also lost access to a previous gmail account - I changed my password with a random generated one, and god (and a google engineer) knows why, I lost access. No amount of appealing would return my access, even if I was wiling to show my national ID card and stuff.

Anyway. About your plan with the email server. We ran such a thing for an organisation in Romania. You'll be surprised how many times our emails ended up in Gmail's spam folders (other providers too, but gmail runs an especially harsh algorithm for spam filtering), even though we had DKIM, SPF and all that jazz setup. You will most likely be locked out of most people's reach, unless you use one of the largest providers. So maybe government regulation is the only realistic way out.

> I applaud the pursuit of longevity and health so long it is paired with the egalitarian outcome in that everybody will be entitled and receive it, regardless of who they are and what they did.

Aren't Americans struggling getting diabetes medicine? And chemo? Is it a reasonable expectation that this treatment, whatever it is, will be any different?
