You are not unsuitable you have high negative emotions and low social skills. It would actually do you good to go learn to be an entrepreneur rather than looking for a job. Give you a hint you are looking in the wrong places. Your obviously high in iq. To be frank your best opportunity is presenting itself to you. Pick up the torch of the provider and go hunt for your meal. Go do something in sales and learn the soft skills necessary for a successful life.
Good luck and God bless I'm sorry you have found yourself in a position where you are so afraid.
To get real your mindset is the real reason you are in the position you are.
I would highly recommend focusing more on the relationships you can build working for a massively successful company like this rather than the fear of failing or making slow progress on your assigned task. The reality is that as a developer in a burgeoning field Complex Progress takes Massive Time investments.
Build real relationships where you are at so that you have something to stand on when you venture out on your own.
Plus if you have people in your corner you are less likely to get fired if you fail to accomplish a task up to par. I definitely am not saying to be a kiss ass but instead to find meaningful valuable relationships with mentors and partners so that you can build a life of your dreams, and not just look at the opportunity as a job.
To thine own self be true. Assertiveness is difficult to learn, the truth is that you do not have enough life experiences which build your own inner fortitude. I would highly suggest doing something which is competitive, sports builds tons of confidence, but also another great thing you can do which is recommended by many successful people is to get involved with a toast masters and practice. Practice makes that 9 as they say.
Good luck in your efforts to grow it is encouragable to learn to be assertive and exude confidence, You Can Do It.
Niche market places are useful to work in, primarily due to the novelty that occurs in thinking and life experiences, the reality is that you learn the most disrupting information working in a novel marketplace that is as you describe niche. This means it is possible to learn knowledge which is incredibly disruptive and offers opportunity for extreme reward, however the pay off might take 25 years rather than 4, how long are you willing to delay gratification? :D
I think the only thing i can add is that a more complex tier system with more value added stuff is the only way to go. Its not necessarily a bad sign that you have more annual than monthly subscribers in fact its a sign of a healthy product campaign that is ingrained for long term exposure. Perhaps you could offer another tier of multi year subscriptions and see who is really a long term client and try to add some extra value for them rather than offering a discount. Cheers!
Good luck and God bless I'm sorry you have found yourself in a position where you are so afraid.
