If your data is reasonably valuable, it will be impossible to deter a minimally invested developer armed with puppeteer (with some modifications), residential proxy services, and captcha solving (way less than a cent per captcha). Most sites that attempt to do it hinder their users more than they do the scrapers.
I don't think there's more psychopathic tendencies in those positions because it's a necessity to being a successful leader.
I think a lot of people crave power, and with a disregard for morals and other people in general, it's easier to attain it. Good people also make good leaders, they just need more luck and hard work to get there without kicking on everyone across their path.
Do you guys see any ads online? I have ublock origin on my laptop and mobile browsers, modded youtube and instagram with no ads on android. I pretty much never see any ad.
I also add the Annoyances lists to uBlock and I have the "I don't care about cookies" extension to ignore cookie popups.
All those names could be recovered in theory.
