I don't know google's AI strategy but what I can tell from my usage and others around me is that google search usage has declined considerably.

Terms like "Google it" have been completely replace by "Ask AI".

I personally mostly use google to find businesses close to me and to search reddit and wikipedia.

It's not flashy.

When shit just works for months or years no one is going to come and praise you for stuff you did a while back.

You are better off breaking stuff and then fixing them to show how useful you are.

I don't do ops myself so I don't know the exact details but sometimes Gitlab is down or there are strange issues with CI/CD breaking.

On perm Gitlab has a ton of problems too.

There are a couple of very vocal people who are generally liked here who wrote angry blog posts about moving from Github to Codeberg.

This is why it's getting traction.

While you are technically correct, 99% of all games that are going to be played on this device are going to come from steam where they take a 30% cut.

I don't know how much money they make from each unit but major profit is not the goal here. They want to sell more games to more casual people who don't even own a PC anymore.

Nobody cares about the Switch hardware, they but it to play Nintendo games.

This is just a x86 PC.

I don't understand, what is so special about this?

They are selling a x86 PC. All x86 PCs sold by everyone are open and you can install whatever you want.

It's commodity hardware packaged into a small box. There is nothing special here.

Trying to sell it as it if Valve are more consumer friendly here is nonsense.

The value of these models is that you can run them on your own hardware.

A company can buy a NVIDIA B300 and serve it's developers in house with unlimited tokens.

Nobody cares about this anymore.

On Windows you have 20 different ways to write native apps that all look different.

On Linux you have Qt/GTK and god knows what else.

Only macOS is somewhat consistent although with Liquid Ass it's also getting worse.

ChatGPT works ok for me but Whatsapp consumes 1000% cpu after the mac wakes up after sleep.

I swear a few years ago shit like this didn't happen on macOS.

Yes it's my main AI thing.

It has access to all top models, great IDE integration and their AI based autocomplete is still unbeaten.

I have no desire to use a TUI, feels like a downgrade to me.

Don't bother, you will just be downvoted to oblivion.

Assume every post here is automatically anti something and don't engage. Your mental health isn't worth it.

It's fast. All websites work. I like how it handles tabs and tab groups. uBO Lite is good enough for me.

Yep.

One time my manager did a hour long lecture for our team on how personal growth is important and that we all should expand our horizons and learn new stuff.

When I tried to reserve 2 hours A WEEK for studying tasks I got push back that I should do it on my own time. It was a complete joke.

Every developer who writes code for a living should get an AI subscription from work and not have to pay for it himself.

Vera doesn't use soldered memory, it uses SOCAMM2.

You are doing a 100 searches a day on avarage? Is your job to search for random stuff on the internet?
