I’ve been using Kagi for over a year (maybe two?) and it’s been tremendous. I can’t recommend it enough.

2 is far worse. Asking a question that can be answered by AI can also spark a good conversation. That's not bad at all.

The wording is a bit rude but the message is still important.

I can't wait to have windowing bugs and UI issues but in Minecraft!

Jokes aside, I've grown to love "XYZ in Minecraft". It's like a newer (still 2011 was a long time ago!) version of "Doom on XYZ".

Gamers don’t like AI.[1][2] I actually think indie studios that don’t use AI will do better than ones that do.

That's assuming that the only market is stuff people are hanging up. The games industry, one that already takes advantage of its workers, is going to love this to the detriment of really passionate artists who love their craft and industry.

This is so silly, but I’m really enjoying it lol. If you wanted to add some extra juice, haptic feedback on the rolls would be super cool!

Sadly I think you’re right. I even shy away from sharing these types of posts at work because it feels like anything that doesn’t mesh with the status quo isn’t received well.

That title gave me a heart attack.

This is kind of how I feel I think. Putting pen to paper for me is hard.

I want to preface this with that I am all for agentic engineering.

I am so tired of hearing about this false equivalency. Compilers are deterministic, their outputs are well understood and they’re transparent.

LLMs are not.

Maybe. But it depends on the metric. It seems like orgs are focused on PR count and token usage. Issues caused by poor code are often lagging indicators so it’s asymmetrical in that aspect.

Write lots of code now and statistically look great, while the impact won’t be felt for a much larger range of time.

With the job search and whatnot then yeah, caring becomes a lot more important. That’s true.

Yeah but you care which is my exact point.

Defeat in what aspect?

The only people who are going to put in the time, are people who care enough to. The problem is you have people who didn’t care before who were equipped with a garden hose. Now that they have a fully pressurized fire hose they can make more of a mess faster.

I guess for a seasonal job, where maybe you don’t care as much about the human interaction aspects of the job I’d be okay with this.

If I ever got an AI interviewer at a company I was interested in working for long term, it would be dead on arrival. Interviewing is a two way street. Candidates glean info about their possible teammates and work experience from the interviewer, just like the interviewer gets a read on the candidate.

Also if I am having someone join my team, I’d want to get to know them first. I’m sure the goal isn’t to have this replace every interview panel but it feels icky to me outside of a seasonal job.

To die. I’m sure that’s nothing new for GitHub, but now it can happen at scale.

I moved my forge to my home, outside of a little stress getting all the containers wrangled it was pretty effortless to setup Forgejo.

I do need a good backup solution though, that’s one thing I’m missing.

There’s one that’s like “Considering 17 theories” that had me wondering what those 17 things would be, I wanted to see them! Turns out it’s just a static message. Very confusing.
