I am building an newsletter for Short Science Fiction, using news stories of the day as inspiration. Purposely limiting the length to 3 chapters.

Currently removing the paywall from all my stories. If I have missed one, let me know.

The length of time is largely dependent on industry as well. In Automotive, 3 to 3.5 years for 1 Project cycle would be a minimum to step out of the Junior status.

Second that method.

It also increased my debugging skills as well when I entered one or more typos along the way.

Great advice. I think you just wrote the howto for doing a pivot.

Apple care should not cover things that are flaws in the design caused by Apple.

These type of design flaws should be fixed up as part of their normal warranty process.

Do you feel the competitive nature is self-imposed? Do you care if the Jane Doe is living the dream on her Instagram?

It's comes down to perspective. If this individual or company has $1000 billion in an investment, $1 billion is just chump change.

It totally make sense for Airbnb to work on this and to end it. Racism should be stopped at all levels, and by everyone everywhere.

Using some simple logic, it would be quite easy to detect signs of racial bias during booking.

A good tech lead _knows_ when to step in to make the hard decision without lots of discussion, but he also _knows_ when to take the soft road to facilitate a fruitful discussion and to arrive on a consensus.

Otherwise, if the only tool you have is a hammer, everything will look like a nail.

Love the line "The more you print, the more productive it makes your workflow". I need to get that dot matrix printer connected up to my computer and start printing straight away, I can feel my productivity increasing.

Man, those adverts sure brings back the memories. Looking at them now (I am in my mind 40s), I am really surprise how much more "hardware" focus the adverts were. Many of them have pictures of ICs, add-on cards for display extensions etc. There was even one from Tektronics about their 60Mhz CRO.

And the Apple II clones and the PC clones...:-)

Back then, I was just going through high school with an Atari 800.
