Thanks to a helpful comment, I discovered after 10 years that
> i can't believe i'm writing a reply to a guy whose name is broken spanish for 'brando, the little fuck'. (literally. there isn't an alternative interpretation.)
Cool, I had no idea.

Roast
Claims to be French but hasn't mentioned surrendering once - suspicious!
Has a PhD in physics but still can't figure out why YAML indentation is important
Watches hoof trimming videos despite seeing a real cow only twice - peak urban programmer moment
(the mention about France was mean, though)
Aaaaaand, a wrap of the wrap! https://hn-wrapped.kadoa.com/BrandoElFollito?share
Noether theorem is one of the nicest ones to derive (together with Maxwell equations). There is such an elegance to go from the axions to the result.
I still have a trauma associated with this, though, because it popped out in one exam and I could see the pages in my notes where it was derived but they were quite blank.
No because we know that we have (in France) a president, a prime minister and ministers.
We know what they are in charge of (for the basic ministries), everyone knows who the president is, a lot who the PM is, and nobody knows the current ministers. But we know their jobs. They also refer to stuff which impacts us on a daiky basis.
The EU as a governing body is a mystery. Not only there are pieces that has almost the same name but are different things, they function in a remote world that does not interfere with ours. Like the UN.
I like to be asked this because I can for one tell the truth, and then see how the interviewer responds (when this is at an advanced stage of the process, with real people)
It is not as if there was a heat dome that is specifically sitting on the cities. It is more because the cities are so bad in heat control that they get tropical night via inertia.
The Trump US gave us (Europeans) the kick in the bottom we needed to get the head from the sand.
Like never we delibrate specifically on non-US solutions (objectively great) because we realized we are neck deep in US dependence. It is not that it was not known before, we just did not feel the threat.
This is why EU companies niw look at our own solution (which are late and will probably suffer from the incompetence and mess of the EU institutions) but another key playet is round the corner, namely China.
Trump managed to make us look elsewhere than the US. Thanks for that.
As an ex-Motorolan (1998-2008), I sometimes look at what remains of the big mighty company and there is not much.
Here in Europe it is even less, at least in the US you see the umpires (or somebody else, not sure as I fo not know baseball) with their half-headsets with the Motorola logo.
Journals are scams, sustained by scientists. All this paid by our taxes.
Scientists decided that other scientists will be ranked by coolness (where they publish). And that this is a strict process. Except when the scientist is a celebrity, such as Benaventiste and his water memory. Too cool to reject.
Hopefully this will change as information gets more and more decentralized.
