> I'll take a run-of-the-mill democracy over that, thank you very much
I for one am completely sick and tired of 45% of my income getting stolen through taxes to support programs that the majority votes for.
When someone who pays no taxes at all, or receives welfare has the same voting power as you, the system is broken.
> No defense of any kind.
What do you need to defend from? If there are no taxes and no tax base to take over, why would a country have any interest at all. And if they do, an anarcho capitalist society treats the threat like it should honestly be treated: Target the leaders of the country that initated the threat, not the cannon fodder soliders from the middle class that are sent to fight the wars.
> Let's have no countries anymore! Maximum freedom for all citizens! Great! Except the freedom for people from elsewhere to move around - including to your area.
Why would people move in if there is no government welfare and the community doesn't offer them jobs or services or even want to do business with them?
> what about when you become poor
Well, you obviously do the same thing as society currently does for unplanned future issues, you buy an insurance policy that covers you in events of unplanned economic hardships.
> No taxes. Great! So, how to fund roads, telecom infrastructure, healthcare etc? Private enterprise?
You go around and find investors to invest in the construction project? Or you just go into the community and gather the money to build the roads/infrastructure?
None of this stuff is build by the government, it's all done by private companies, the money is just forcefully taken from everyone through taxes and then half of it is eaten up by beuracratic nonsense.
I am not.
School teachers are predominantly women (around 90%), single parent homes are primarily run by women, women play the largest roles in the raising of children in genetal, and also make up about 35% of domestic abuse reports (not accounting for all the cases where men are too ashamed to report the abuse).
Women commit just as much sexual abuse as men, it's just not talked about by society.
> The Libertarians seem to either genuinely not care about the rest of the world or, more often than not, seem to be naive about how life can be for the less privileged
No, they just put boundaries on what services they want handled by the government. Government programs are the least efficient and most wasteful way of getting a job done, and there are endless examples of this.
Churches were historically the places people went to for assistance, and churches held people accountable and would push them to fix their underlying issues.
Government programs have none of this, you can keep making the same bad decisions and nobody will hold you accountable and the benefits will keep coming in.
I wonder if anyone at microsoft is feeling at all worries about news like this, or if all the people that would have worried about stuff like this have been let go and replaced by overseas workers
Agreed. Having worked around unions while doing IT in the manufacturing industry, I had much better bargaining ability and got much bigger raises and flexibility as an individual than the union employees.
Well, yeah, the majority of people back then died around the age of 30 because they were out hunting all day and got infections and died from lack of medical care.
The average human from that era did not die from red meat consumption. Red meat is the most nutrient dense food you can eat and studies saying otherwise or saying that they increase your body acidity or lead to worse outcomes have been consistently disproven.
Capitalism:
> an economic system characterized by private or corporate ownership of capital goods, by investments that are determined by private decision, and by prices, production, and the distribution of goods that are determined mainly by competition in a free market
Any semblance of capitalism we have is a shambling corpse barely getting around. Do you know who pulls on all the strings of our economy, gives out student aid loans to kids who just barely graduates high school? Who controls market interest rates, and gives massive multi billion dollar contracts to Companies like OpenAI, Anthropic, Facebook, Google, Microsoft?
Who approved of the printing of the 50% increase in the dollar supply in the last 5 years?
Take a guess.
I'll give you a hint, if you don't pay them on a yearly basis 30-50% of your paycheck, you go to prison.
Most of the AI companies have OpenAi compatible API's, so you just get a subscription from another provider and change the URL that your LLM Agent Harness uses to talk to the AI.
I use OpenRoutet which lets you switch between providers (Anthropic, ChatGPT, Z-AI) whenever you want. Sometimes I'll have two different models from different providers evaluate each other's answers.
So you're just making the money that you are forced by the government to pay or face going to prison into a virtue.
Do you actually put any of your own money to help support children/sick individuals other than just getting the money forcefully taken from you and being told that it's totally going to the kids/healtchare, while 50% of it gets burned up by government beurocrats?
How much of your money do you spend on paying for kids school lunches, paying medical bills of terminally ill kids and paying off the student loans of graduates?
It's very easy to say that someone/some oeganization's wealth should be confiscated, yet I have yet to see those proposing it actually putting any of their own money where their mouth is.
Do quantized models specifically prune out specific knowledge? I think they just compress things down but they're still in there. You'd most likely need to do that when you're doing the initial model training, but I'm not expert.
As an individual I do not need the whole model. I don't need the model to have knowledge of the rain history of Algeria nor how many colors are in the Russian flag. Once they start trimming down the excess and making them field focused they will run just fine on people's individual devices.
