This is a very ignorant take. Americans always want to pin everything on a bogeymen. The largest beneficiary we know of in this liquidation event was an anonymous trader who shorted bitcoin on Hyperliquid just before Trump's tarrif announcement, and made 88M dollars. You think the Chinese did that ? If the Chinese wanted to nuke any market it would be equities.

And you think America is not ?

Is it ? The language is evolving very fast. Compare English from the 50's to what is spoken now, take into account the major dialects around the world...

I don't see much stability.

A requirement to report taxes is not normally thought of as a threat to privacy coins per se. And the whole privacy coin thing is modelled on the belief that the state has no business knowing all your financial details.

>The anonymity is still not perfect, especially against state-level actors.

With PirateChain it is, but true anonymity brings with it other technical challenges.

My exact same problem! How did you solve it ?

“They have the advantage of coming to California without being tainted and polluted by what’s in the water supply and air of Silicon Valley,”

That made me laugh.

But you are right: to create something really new, you must bring in a different perspective. Frequently, this is possible only as an outsider.

My mistake. It's fixed now.

That may be the solution they end up implementing.

> You also need a stable and at least substantially non-corrupt political situation...

That rules out a lot of countries in the world including Russia, USA, and Brazil :/

All facetiousness aside, I am really glad to learn of this development. It goes to show the dynamic potential locked up and waiting to be exploited in Africa. The infrastructure problems are not insurmountable and the high returns accruable to investors will more than compensate any willing entrepreneur.

Africa is not an investment destination for the future. It is an investment destination for today.

(On a related note, a company I am inolved with is starting a training school for the next generation of elite developers from Nigeria and we are searching for international technical and financial partners. I'd love to hear from any interested HN readers.
