If you read the articles, I would say that the companies listed above (like the NYT) are not the ones outsourcing, the outsourcing is quite limited in scope, and mostly is design jobs, not writing jobs.
People are extremely defensive about elite institutions like FAANG or the Ivies. Those are generally not the people making the hiring decisions, but they can be.
If there's an app that can cause damage to my phone, that is Apple's problem for having an exploit in their sandbox and I would certainly expect them to repair the damage
I thought it was a great analogy.
