I was on a trip this summer with my girlfriend and at some point we talked about a particular bag of a particular brand. She wanted to buy it and we talked about trying to find a store in the city we were in.
The next day she had ads of the same exact bag in her IG feed.
We never did any research online of the bag so we assumed the phones were listening.
On top of that, none of us are english so we spoke in our native language.
I installed FB a few years back when it started to get popular and everyone was creating accounts. A few days later, a friend of mine posted a picture and tagged me. I hated the fact that I couldn't control that (The security settings were pretty basic back then) so I immediately deleted my account and never looked back.
IG is ok I guess but I'm not really into it since everyone's life appears to be the same.
The only one I really like is Twitter because it lets me stay informed about topics I'm interested in.
AFAIK, licences are limited and no way near that price. When a taxi driver retires, he "resells" the license to another colleague for a huge amount (150k+). The buyer buys it knowing he'll be able to resell the license when he retires too, and so on.
This practice has been going on for years, so now taxi drivers are afraid of losing the status quo because they've paid an overpriced license.
I'm using a Xiaomi Mi A1 for some time now and so far so good. I was looking for a pure Android experience without all the crapware and custom UI's that come from any major phone brand and this is exactly what I got.
Also, direct updates from Google for 2 years without interference from the brand (Xiaomi in this case). Which means I have security updates every month.
I'm not going to buy anything that's not an AndroidOne from now on, with the exception of a Pixel.
