Everyone has been asking about the latest updates and timeline for Seedance 2.0 — here’s the current schedule: • Feb 10 (16:00): Seedance 2.0 Experience Center opens. (Advanced capabilities such as multimodal reference-to-video require whitelist access — applications are currently closed.) • Feb 14 (Launch Announcement): Official Seedance 2.0 launch announcement by Volcano Engine, including an online launch event covering model details and key advantages. • Feb 24 (API): Official domestic and international ToB API release, with full access available.

There are currently no additional updates beyond these three milestones.

We’ve been tracking the progress of ByteDance’s latest video generation model, Seedance 2.0, which was just released on their Dreamina platform. While the "AI video" space is getting crowded, Seedance 2.0 introduces a few technical shifts that are worth a look for the engineering and creative community:

Dual-branch Diffusion Transformer: Unlike models that treat audio as an afterthought, Seedance 2.0 uses a unified architecture to generate 2K video and synchronized environmental audio/SFX simultaneously. This reduces the "uncanny valley" effect in action-heavy scenes (e.g., a glass breaking).

Multi-Shot Narrative Logic: One of the hardest problems in T2V is temporal and character consistency across cuts. Seedance allows for "multi-lens storytelling," maintaining the same seeds for characters and lighting across a 15-second sequence of distinct shots.

12-File Reference System: It moves beyond simple text prompting. You can input up to 9 images, 3 video clips, and 3 audio files to "steer" the model. It feels less like a slot machine and more like a controllable production tool.

Improved Physics: In our early tests, it handles complex movements—like hand-to-hand combat or fabric interaction—with significantly fewer hallucinations than current SOTA models.

We’re curious to hear the community’s thoughts on the move toward native 2K generation and whether the "multi-modal reference" approach is the right path toward solving the steerability problem in generative video.

’ve been experimenting with AI video tools for a while, but most of them generate isolated clips that fall apart when you try to build an actual narrative. We built Seedance2 to focus on something slightly different: multi-shot video generation that keeps characters, motion, and visual style consistent across scenes.

Seedance2 is an AI video generator that supports text-to-video and image-to-video workflows. Instead of producing a single short clip, it can generate cohesive multi-shot sequences with consistent identity and cinematic transitions.

Some technical highlights: • Native multi-shot narrative generation with consistent characters • Dynamic motion synthesis for camera movement and complex actions • Precise prompt following for multi-subject scenes • Optional native audio & lip-sync generation • 480p–1080p output with multiple aspect ratios • Short-form generation (5–12 seconds) optimized for rapid iteration

We originally built this because existing tools worked fine for single shots but became messy when trying to prototype storyboards, ads, or short films. A big goal was making something that feels closer to “scene generation” rather than “clip generation”.

Use cases we’re seeing: • Rapid film pre-visualization • marketing/social media videos • short narrative content • product demos and creative experiments

This is still evolving, and we’re actively looking for feedback from developers, filmmakers, and people building AI content workflows.

Mythology is one of the earliest structured storytelling systems: archetypal characters, symbolic conflicts, and causal narratives that explain how the world works. But most modern mythology resources are static — fixed texts, fixed characters, fixed interpretations.

When building story tools for families and educators, I ran into a recurring limitation: it’s hard to generate new myth-style stories that preserve structure while remaining customizable. Most AI story generators produce free-form fantasy prose that lacks mythic logic, while traditional collections offer depth without flexibility.

This project explores a middle ground.

I built a Mythology Story Generator that focuses on structured, customizable mythic narratives rather than generic text generation.

Design goals

Instead of asking users to “write a story,” the generator constrains inputs around elements common to mythology: • setting (cosmic, natural, liminal spaces) • character roles (creator, trickster, challenger, guardian) • transformation or moral tension • resolution that explains a rule of the world

These constraints are intentional. They reduce randomness and help the model produce stories with clearer internal logic — closer to myth than fantasy.

What it generates

The output is a complete short myth with: • a defined beginning, conflict, and resolution • consistent symbolic motifs • language suitable for both children and adults, depending on prompt choices

Use cases I’ve seen so far include: • parents generating bedtime myths tailored to a child’s interests • educators creating original “origin stories” for classroom discussion • writers and game designers prototyping lore without committing to a full world bible

Why not just use a general LLM?

General-purpose models are powerful, but without structure they often: • over-index on verbosity • drift thematically • produce interchangeable fantasy tropes

This tool uses template-guided prompting and genre constraints to trade off some freedom for coherence and reuse.

Beyond single outputs

In addition to generating stories, users can: • reuse and iterate on prompts • browse stories generated by others • adapt outputs into printables, reading material, or creative exercises

The goal isn’t to automate creativity, but to lower the cost of exploring structured storytelling ideas.

Feedback welcome

I’m particularly interested in feedback on: • whether the constraints feel helpful or limiting • how to improve narrative consistency • additional use cases in education or game design

Happy to answer questions or discuss design tradeoffs.

Coloring pages are everywhere. You can find thousands of PDFs online with animals, princesses, vehicles, mandalas—almost anything. But after making coloring pages for kids in my own family, I noticed a frustrating limitation: traditional coloring pages are not customizable at all.

If a child wants “a dinosaur with glasses,” or “a fire truck with a cat driving,” or if a parent wants a coloring page that matches a bedtime story they just read, the usual workflow is: search → compromise → print something close enough.

That’s the gap I wanted to solve.

I built a Coloring Pages Generator that lets you generate custom black-and-white, print-ready coloring pages from simple text prompts. Instead of choosing from a fixed library, you describe what you want, and the system generates a clean line-art page designed specifically for coloring (no gray shading, no messy textures).

What makes it different from traditional coloring pages 1. True customization You’re not limited to predefined themes. You can specify characters, actions, styles, and complexity levels. For example: “A simple coloring page of a robot baking cookies, for a 5-year-old.” 2. Designed for printing and coloring Many AI image tools generate images that look nice but are terrible to color. This generator focuses on: • Clear outlines • High contrast • Black-and-white only • Printable PDF output 3. A growing gallery of community-generated pages In addition to generating your own pages, users can browse coloring pages created by others. This helps parents, teachers, and educators quickly find ideas, remix prompts, or reuse ready-made pages without starting from scratch.

Who it’s for • Parents who want personalized activities for their kids • Teachers looking for themed worksheets • Story creators who want matching coloring pages • Anyone tired of generic, one-size-fits-all coloring PDFs

This isn’t meant to replace traditional coloring books—they’re great—but to add flexibility where static content falls short.

I’d love feedback from the HN community, especially around: • Prompt control vs. simplicity • Print quality expectations • Use cases in education

Thanks for reading, and happy to answer questions.

Whisper Thunder (https://whisperthunder.top) has recently surged to the top of several AI video tool rankings. After trying it myself, I found its output surprisingly strong: with just a single prompt, it can generate a short video clip with smooth camera motion, coherent scenes, and a cinematic look — all within seconds.

Key Features • Text → Video: Enter a prompt, choose a style/ratio, and it generates a complete video. • Cinematic Quality: Natural motion, consistent scenes, realistic lighting — more stable than most similar tools. • Fast & Easy: No watermark, no payment required, and quick generation — great for video prototyping. • Style Control: Supports realistic, animated, and cinematic styles, and can maintain consistency across shots using reference images.

Why It Matters • Significantly lowers the barrier to video creation: Ads, promo videos, product demos, storyboards — no filming needed. • Excellent for rapid prototyping: Design, product, and marketing teams can validate visual concepts in minutes. • Shows clear progress in AI video: Better motion consistency, scene stability, and controllability.

Things to Keep in Mind • Quality still depends heavily on prompt design. • Realistic humans and complex scenes can be inconsistent. • Generation time varies depending on complexity. • Like all AI video tools, there are copyright and misuse risks.

Whisper Thunder is one of the most promising new text-to-video tools available today. If you’re interested in the future of AI video or need quick video prototypes, it’s definitely worth trying.

GenStory: Telling Your Story with AI — From API Integration to Brand Evolution

In today’s era, “generative AI” is no longer just about writing copy or creating images—it’s evolving into “content as narrative.” We’ve launched GenStory, a brand-new, independent AI creation platform designed to help anyone and any brand build their story-framework easily. At the same time, we leverage the Gemini Storybook API as a technological foundation and have deeply optimized it, resulting in a more creator-friendly, flexible, and intelligent narrative engine.

⸻

1. What is GenStory? Why should you care?

GenStory is an independent AI creation brand whose core goal is: making “story-telling” simpler, smarter, and more creatively accessible. • For education: Generate illustrated story-books, teaching narratives quickly with ease. • For brand marketing: Produce a full suite of narrative content—character profiles, plot scripts, visuals, ready-to-publish versions. • For creators or influencers: Turn your ideas, characters, and storylines into tangible formats—storybooks, interactive web stories, short-form scripts.

In this process, we prioritise two keywords: consistency (text and visuals stay coherent) and co-creation (you’re not commanding a machine—you’re collaborating with it).

⸻

2. How does GenStory relate to Gemini Storybook’s API?

Many wonder: “Are you part of Gemini Storybook? Are you the same team?” Here’s the clear answer: We are an independent brand—but we utilize Gemini Storybook’s API technology.

In other words: • We did not originate from the Gemini Storybook core team. • We used their API capabilities as a stable foundation for our platform’s technical architecture. • Then we built on top of it with secondary development and enhancements, including: • Upgraded narrative logic: stories with better flow, character development, emotional arcs. • Enhanced text-visual alignment: improved character consistency, scene expansion, visual style variety. • Refined user experience: better UI, prompt-assist guidance, flexible output formats (interactive web, short-form video scripts, multilingual versions).

So you can think of it like this:

Gemini Storybook’s API provides the core capability; GenStory builds a more flexible, creator-centric brand engine on top of it.

⸻

3. Why launch a separate brand? Expanding scenarios and focus.

We opted to create GenStory as a separate brand—not to start from scratch, but to unlock broader possibilities.

Gemini Storybook focuses primarily on “storybook” generation. GenStory aims to expand into a broader creative infrastructure: “Generating stories” becomes a foundation for many creative scenarios. In our vision, AI should help you not just produce a book but: • Generate a full narrative system for educators. • Build a brand’s story or visual narrative pipeline. • Serve as a tool for creators to visualise characters, plots, and virtual worlds. • Provide content for marketing or short-form video scripts.

In other words: GenStory is not just about generating one book—it’s about building a complete narrative engine.

⸻

4. What key optimisations have we done?

Based on the API of Gemini Storybook, GenStory targets the following four enhancement areas: • Multimodal integration: Beyond text + illustration, we support multiple visual styles and are exploring audio and animation to bring stories to life. • Smart prompt-assist system: You don’t need to master AI command syntax—just describe what you want in natural language and our system guides you to better results. • Diverse output formats: Storybook PDFs, interactive web stories, small animated scripts, social-media short posts—so your generated content fits the channel. • Collaborative creation experience: We treat “you + AI” as a small team. After generation you can directly modify plot, characters, visuals—system updates in real time.
