We’ve developed a method for tenants to use solar energy produced on their landlord’s roof at a lower cost than grid electricity, while still maintaining the flexibility to keep their own electricity provider for non-sunny days.

Our solution not only lowers energy costs for tenants but also encourages the use of locally produced, green energy. This hybrid approach offers a seamless transition between solar and grid power, ensuring tenants can always access electricity without needing to switch providers.

### My Questions for the Community: - What specific features would tenants need to fully embrace this green, local energy solution? - How can we design the user experience to make the benefits of switching to solar energy clear and compelling? - What incentives might motivate tenants to prioritize locally produced solar energy over grid energy?

I’d love to hear thoughts from the community, especially any ideas on improving user adoption and ensuring a smooth transition for tenants.

In Germany, for example, the current problem is that there are too few skilled workers to drive forward the energy transition. There is a lack of qualified fitters who could install photovoltaics.

That's a good point! But how can the technology develop if no one would invest in it?

Do you know anything about the whole life cycle of solar energy? I would be really interested to know more about it.

How could this be changed?

Actually the EU is thinking about exactly doing this.

It would be great if they could achieve this goal. What options do you see that could be used right away?

Looks great. What is the use case?

Many deaf people have poor grammar because American Sign Language (ASL) greatly simplifies and, in some cases, omits things that are not really needed to convey an idea. To a deaf person subtitles are is overly verbose and the word order is strange (for example, subtitles has "running," which is the word "run" followed by a sign for "ing." ASL does away with "ing" because it is obvious in context).

Yes, that is the total number (World Health Organisation) of people who are deaf or have hearing problems worldwide.

And yes there are lots of different languages, which can make it hard to translate things digitally.

Thanks for your question. We're currently in the prototyping phase, trying to figure out if there's a real need for this product. We're able to simplify the process by using real human experts, which makes it easy and convenient for agencies or film makers. They just have to upload their video and we're taking care of the rest.

What do you think is the biggest problem currently? Because I really want to learn more about this and see if it's a real problem for a broader audience so that we can help even more deaf people. Especially with new technology solutions.

Wow - thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts with us! There are a lot of good examples in your text which makes it really easy to understand that there is a real difference.

Do you have an idea why people nobody is taking care of that problem? Because it’s simply too expensive so far?

I’m really curious about this, because we identified how we could potentially fix this problem and help a lot of deaf people. But it’s always a problem if you think you solve a problem if there is no real need out there.
