If a phone is designed so the screen always breaks when it hits the ground unless it's protected by a case, it would make more sense to manufacture the phone inside a case already, no? I.e. make a raised rubber bezel around the screen's edge part of the standard design.

I'd be willing to bet in most workplaces, about 20% of the workforce is dead weight - especially those in the management chain.

Funny to think the Romans were doing this thousands of years ago (and probably civilizations before them as well), and here we are just now coming around again to the idea of heating/cooling via cistern storage.

Those datacenters don't only house GCP you know. I'd be willing to bet GCP only makes up a comparatively small portion of their datacenter computing resources.

It's also interesting that Google is willing to suffer an unprofitable product for many many years (YouTube) without being fickle and cutting it, yet other products aren't even given a fair shot before getting the axe.

Right, and Second Life was supposed to be a social gathering place and not at all a place for penises of every type and description to be put on display. Attempting to predict how a social network will behave is utterly futile.

Not until there are accompanying ecosystem apps on par with Logic Pro, Final Cut, etc... I've found with almost every linux distro there's always an area where it falls short.
