100% It's worse than the old days of only having cable and having to pay a small fortune. I'm not going to pay the same (or more) and then have to jump around between 12 different apps.

Exactly! 75k is peanuts today, especially if you're single. Most people from my generation aren't even making that...what hope is there for them, let alone for Z.

The problem is corporations: they want employees clustered in hubs, not wfh, where they cannot "control" them.

Aside from a couple tech companies out there, good luck trying to relocated and wfh in the mid-west.

This is sooooo naive.

100%

Not only do they control the content you see, the content you can access, but also history of the content you've accessed.

Fuck this planet.

It wasn't hacked. Why is it ok for ANYONE, let alone a political party and news orgs, to get away with one-sided comms?

Just as bad, if not worse than Trump.

You're still on the hook for your lease etc. That's why they could actually kick you out for other reasons (ex: not paying electric).

that's not the point - they were saying that retroactively going back and viewing old content on 4k, you can easily spot the CG/issues etc.

ex: Farscape - all the CG was rendered in low res, so even when you view a 1080p copy it looks silly. Imagine all the content that would have to be re-done and upscaled to make it watchable in 4k.

This is a great take.

The more we reduce the human survival instinct around these jobs, the better we'll all be.

Humans do dumb shit when we're flooded with chemicals, both internal and external.

ahh it all makes sense now...so that's why I have to go to the web to buy stuff in Fandango/Vudu.

How come these companies don't do something similar for subscriptions? ex: HBO Now (or whatever the fuck it's called these days) could have a subscribe button that takes you out of the app to their site - completely circumventing the in-app subscription purchase. Right?

"Real data"

Kinda like how the rough %s are the same?

What argument were you trying to make again? oh right, the one that is silly af: not to worry about it.
