Also, e. g. a picture on Facebook can be used to find you on /r/gonewild. Even absent full faces, eventually just skin tones and identifiable marks (tattoos, birthmarks, mouth shape, whatever) will probably be able to id you in pictures you may not want to be identified in.
So don't put nudies up on the web unless you're ok with someone, maybe 5 years from now, being able to Noogle them up in a couple of seconds.
I think this is a symptom of a larger problem in the sense that if you really explain what it is most of these micro-startups do, it sounds like a ridiculous thing to expect to ever make money from.
Even when they do explain themselves it is always in the vein of "Like Heroku meets Google+ meets Github for todo lists".

The rumor is clearly that, just a rumor, but it is amazing to see so many people reject the idea outright. He may not be dead now, but I'd be shocked if he made it through 2011... I just don't see why he would have resigned and then basically disappeared if things weren't very grim.
I personally dislike Apple for a lot of reasons (I think the injunction that was just upheld for them in Germany, for example, is ridiculous), but it still sucks for anyone to have to go through what Steve Jobs has been going through for a few years now, so I do hope for the best in regards to his health, but realistically even if it turns out he's not dead, I think all these people emotionally invested in his continued livelihood should really start coming to grips with the fact that he's almost certainly not long for this world.
What makes this extra crazy is that the last time I was forced to think "Real? They still exist?" was because they were trying to market commercial DVD ripping software and complaining about getting shut down by the MPAA-ish entities. Now they're suing someone for a link?
Why do you suspect another such person exists? I mean, I don't even like Apple but I have to admit replacements for Jobs don't exactly grow on trees. If they did, Apple would have some real competition in their spaces instead of rolling over the other guys as they have been for the past 5 years.
If there were another Steve Jobs working at Apple he'd have quit a long time ago to do his own thing.

I don't mean this to be a snarky response. I never fly anything but coach myself, and I think the airlines do have a lot to answer for in terms of poor customer service, but at least part of the problem is consumers expecting the red carpet treatment while paying relatively very little for something that is a huge convenience.
Having played against some id software people back in the Quake 2 and q3demo days, they were far less good at the games than one might naively expect, at least when compared to hardcore gamers.
Knowing the internals of the game and the map designs is no substitute for playing the game for hundreds of hours against other top competitors.

We all have photos taken of us that convey personalities that aren't really our own. I don't think you're a douche, but the photo gives that impression a bit.
IMO the problem isn't that he looks 20, but rather that he looks pretty douchey in that photo. Looking young isn't so bad in this context, but looking like you just stepped off of the set of one of those MTV 'reality' shows is.

Have any news sources stated whether or not EJ owns the place that got ransacked? I often see it referred to as her "apartment" in various places and was curious if she actually owned it or was a renter who was subletting it herself? Perhaps part of the problem Airbnb has coming fully clean with the entire story is the whole can of worms that potentially opens up if/when it becomes common knowledge that a lot of their business is built on subletting that isn't even technically legal (according to most rental contracts) in the first place.
I can easily imagine they are done for. Not because of the PR backlash, but because what they are doing is already quasi-illegal in a lot of places and one juicy story like this that the media, lawyers and politicians can jump on is just about all it will take to eventually remove the "quasi" part.
The criminals already know everything about her (real name, likely her social security number, etc), what on earth does she have to lose by "extremely public" blogging?
